The second one looks like a behind-the-scenes shot for Sunshine. The beach picture is from Sunburn. (The other-- sorta-- sunshine movie...!) The top one-- I just have to say: Hi, watch! There's my Capa-watch! Would still like to ask him how it got so smacked around, though. The case-- which is very heavy (it's an Oris watch, a real chunk of hardware)-- is actually notched on one side, like someone dropped it on pavement and then stepped on it, and even after a therapeutic trip to the repair shop, the sweep hand won't reset. Ah, well, it's still more than a keeper...!

Thanks! I still need to watch Sunburn sometime! It's on Youtube but I never have the time to watch it.

I'm sure I'll like it too. I've been wanting to watch it forever now, I even bought the DVD but since it was region 4 it wouldn't play on anything and I didn't want to change the region on my laptop cause I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it back!

Aww, too bad dvds can't be more simple...just one region! I bought a hd dvd once without realizing it and now I have no use for it.

Ugh, I know! I've been thinking that for awhile now. If the movie's in English why bother having a different region for it?

There are codes you can buy (or not buy...) to make your dvd player universal.

I've been shouting this from the rooftops for years-- go on over to eBay and check the listings for region-free DVD players. There's almost always something available for under a hundred bucks, and you don't have to risk messing up the DVD player in your PC. That's how I watched region-four Sunburn: on an eighty-dollar region-free Daewoo.
Or... I don't know how Windows handles things at present, but Mac OS X lets you switch your DVD region coding five times before it "locks in." So right now I'm using this MacBook Pro as my region-two machine and running region-one DVDs on the player hooked to the TV.

It's not the best one ever but it works and plays DVDs i couldn't otherwise watch, so i love it! I get so many Region 1 DVDs from Amazon because i can't find them anywhere else. Everyone should invest in a region free DVD player- they're well worth it and you don't have to pay a fortune for one.
