It was Red Eye for me. Me and a couple friends went to see it back in July and we all loved it. Although I was the only one who fell in love with Jackson. I kept complaining about his final fate and they got mad.
Them: "But, it was a happy ending! He wanted to kill her!" Me: "So? I love him!"
Once I got it on DVD, I was completely obsessed. I immediatly looked up his other movies and started working on getting a hold of them.
And since we saw Red Eye, I've converted one of those friends to Cillian-ism. ;D

Red Eye. I remember watching the DVD (I never saw it in the theater) and not knowing too much about Cillian, but just being mesmerized by those eyes -- he was scary AND magnetic, and appealing -- which is VERY hard to pull off. Like Pig-N-Me, and deornorth - I've tried to get my hands on everything he's done since getting Red Eye. I recalled when I watched the special features and heard Wes Craven talking about how concerned he was that Cillian might not be able to pull off an 'American' accent, seeing as his Irish accent was very strong and pronounced -- I was like wtf? You're kidding? He's not American?!! From then on, I just HAD to hear the OiRish! I was prepared to do anything to get my hands on 'Intermission.' I was desperate for it. Thankfully they had a nice reasonable used copy at Blockbuster for 9 bucks - I was like, YAAAAHOOOO! It was strange because when I first heard his Irish accent, I still thought of him as Jackson (Jack was seared into my brain, lol) and so the Irish sounded fake to me - or not real...hard to explain. LOL Gradually, and after watching 28DL, and now Disco Pigs I got over it -- and now of course, I hear that beautiful brogue in me sleep. LOL You know what else is neat about the 'special features,' part of the Red Eye DVD?? I always thought I was a little bizarre to think of Jackson and Lisa in an HR (Hopeless Romantic) kind of a way - but I'm the biggest HR around so it was natural and not unusual for me to go there.... -- what I wasn't prepared for is to have all the romantic stuff CONFIRMED on the director's commentary -- whatever guy is commenting with Wes, I think it was a producer...kept hitting on their attraction, and that Jackson realizes at one point he'll never have a woman like Lisa, that he gets almost jealous over her scar, and then mad that she's lied to him - and a lot of other romantic imagery stuff that even I, queen of HR had not thought of! LOL It was cool!! I suggest you all watch the Red Eye commentary if you haven't already - then you'll see where a lot of this romantic fic comes from. LOL I was just glad to have my romantic weirdness validated. LOL

I was the opposite, after seeing Cill in so many films where he spoke naturally, his red eye voice I kinda found fault with. Not that he didn't do a good job but I could hear it supressed and it kinda bugged.

About Cillian's accent in Red Eye: I thought he had a very convincing American accent, but I don't think he looks like any American man I've ever seen (and I mean that as a compliment because I really like Irish and British men). So, for me, it was as if Jackson's accent didn't go with his look/character. Did anyone else feel that way?

The first time I saw Cillian, was in a picture of 28 days later in a movie magazine, lol , but I thought the film would scare me too much, so I didn't see it (silly me)... My boyfriend did saw it, and told me "Gee, it's terrible!" Me:"Why, is it bad?" Him: "No, it's so fookin scary!" lol ;D So I denyed seeing 28 dl, even when I'm a huge fan of Danny Boyle's work. Then I watched his little scene in Cold Mountain, but the only thing I thought was "Ohhhhh, poor guy! " And then, last year, reading my movie magazine again, about Batman Begins, before it was released here, AGAIN there was a picture of him... "Dr. Jonathan Crane/ the Scarecrow- Cillian Murphy (28 days later)"... and I was like "OMG, how could I've lived in such darkness!!!" LOL. So, when the movie came out, I saw it lot of times, bought inmediately 28dl... and got into this forum That's my story. It was Batman Begins.

It was Batman Begins but I saw him before in Cold Mountain and also I thought OMG that's so sad, poor guy!! , I even hate Natalie Portman character after that, but I never get noticed too much about Cill , actually I never wanted to see Batman, when Batman Begins was in the theater I choose to see War of the Worlds ;D(yeah I feel so stupid), then I rented the movie (batman begins) and from that moment on he hooked me, I said to myself: wow! :owhat a talented and gorgeous guy!! and I became a huge fan, but I never saw this site, I walked in darkness too much time , the good thing is that now I am where I belong ...

On the Edge for me, I remember thinking he was weird looking but cute at the same time, then by the end of the film I was in love, lol. I started getting more of his films like Disco Pigs, 28 days and Gwape. Then I went off films for a bit and ended up giving 28 days later, Disco Pigs and Gwape to the boyfriend. Then I got back into it and thankfully got the dvds back. I don't fancy Cillan though, just Jonathan Breech and I HATE Red Eye with a passion.

Tom Cruise(War of the Worlds) over Christian Bale(Batman Begins)?! What were you thinking?! Unless you saw WOTW cause of Steven Speilberg which I would understand. And before I get to the topic of this thread, what's with the Christian's not in the same league as Cillian thing?! I don't care if you approve of him look wise but have you people not seen Christians films?! I mean....just.....ah!! How can you not put them in the same league, I don't understand?!!!! Someone please explain I mean there's : BB, Shaft, American Psycho, Reign of Fire, The Machinist(in which he looks like a Holocaust survivor!!), Little Women, Velvet Goldmine, All the Little Animals, NEWSIES, Swing Kids, Equilibrium, The New World, Pocahontas(Disney animated one, voice of Thomas), Howls Moving Castle(voice of Howl), A Midsummers Night Dream, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, etc. Come on now people & those are just a few! He's an AMAZING actor & gorgeous!! Sorry, LOVE Cillian & all, but ya'll gotta understand Christian Bale was the FIRST guy I ever liked, period & I've seen pretty much all his films & not ONE is bad, though "The New World" was kinda slow, that's probably cause in my opinion it only sped up & got good once Christian was in it but yeah(no offense to Collin Farrel). Ok, *breath* Sorry for the Christian ranting. Anyways, on with the topic. Batman Begins(because of CHRISTIAN) was what got me hooked on Cillian, so really I kinda owe Christian....sorry. Um, I went for Christian as it's a rule I must see all his films I can & went in knowing his performance would be great which it was, but came out of the theater with the performance of Crane/Scarecrow in my mind. Whole time, while not oogling at Batman, I was like who is that amazing, blue eyed God they have as the villian?! Cause his performance was just stunning! I stayed to watch the credits to find out who he was & have been a Cillian fan since. He sucessfully creeped me out in that film, but in a good way if yeah know what I mean. I saw BB with some friends a few times & each time they were like "Girl, mans creepy! Not hott!", course I ignored them. I just thought he was brilliant! Then, funny enough a little while after I saw BB my best friend(whom was one I dragged to see BB & found Cillian "Creepy & not hott") was talking about how some of her friends made her see 28DL & was telling me about it & mentioned this hott guy who plays the main character of Jim & how he was naked in the begining, etc. So I see BB again after this convo, go home decide finally to do some Cillian research & what do you know? Cillian "Mr. Creepy" as my friends dubbed him was "Mr. Hott naked man", as they had also dubbed him, from 28DL. Called 'em up & told them he was one in the same & they were all in shock, lol. Then saw 28DL later & the love for Cillian grew(mind you I was a bit hesitant to watch it merely cause I'm scared easily, & it did freak me out!!). Now sadly, I did not see Red Eye in theaters(deprived me I know) but bought it the first day it came out(mind you I didn't know Cillian was in it, I honestly didn't see a lot of publicity for it) but I knew Rachel McAdams was in it & I'm a huge fan of hers so that's why I got it. We(me, my sister, & like 2 friends of mine & 2 friends of my sisters) went to our neighbors house & watched it cause we had all wanted to see it. And I swear we missed the whole first 20 minutes or so cause I was like "It's Cillian! It's Scarecrow! It's Jim!" and they were all like, "No....he too creepy in a hott way to be him". I stared at them all like "DUH!" I spent the first half of the movie convincing them he was who I said he was, then they got the bright idea to look at the DVD box only to see his name on it, lol. But, the movie is what we called "predictabley scary". Which is you can predict whats gonna happen but it scares you none the less when it actually happens. Anyways, BB got me hooked on Cillian, Red Eye did it for my friends. Now, course I ADORE BOP(trying to get my ma & sister to watch it). And I'd say I've seen his other films, like Disco Pigs, etc. But I seriously can't find them anywhere. And I'd order online, but we've had a bad experience with that recently so we're laying off that for a little while. Which sucks cause I really wanna see his other films!! And I'd like downlaod them, course that's illegal(depending which sites you use I suppose) & my computer, being dial up, would take like 2-3 days to download a whole movie anyways. Seriously, it takes like an hour to download those cool Cillian/red eye/batman music videos which are 3-4 minutes long. Um, also have seen Girl With A Pearl Earring(now hate Scarlet Johanson, for those you who have seen it surely you know why. And, lol, does he look like an elf in that movie or is it just me? A hott elf, but still. lol). And still must see Cold Mountain. Ok, that was a big, long *ss story on how my love for Cillian came to be, half defending Christian. Sorry bout that by the way, he's a touchy topic cause I've loved him since 5th grade. Ok, done now. Sorry again for taking up so much space.

Sorry?
Yes I know, but I choose WOTW because I say to myself: this movie is cool, and it "was", but it wasn't for Tom Cruise, I don't like him anyway, I just made a mistake, oops!

It was also "Red Eye" for me. But what totally made me hooked on him was "Breakfast.." The first film I saw him in was "A Girl with the Pearl Earring" I remember I thought he was scary... ;D Geez, he's so good. He has the ability to make a great movie of something that would normally be just a bore/ a standard.

I've got to go with Red Eye over here.
I can remember actually watching Batman Begins and not having any clue who he was and thinking he was really super creepy and I didn't like him much. All of that changed in Red Eye, which I really only watched the first time because I recognized Rachel McAdams in the trailer.
Anyhow, I watched it for the first time and seriously fell in love with him, and with the film. I saw it in the theater seven times (but I mean, I work at a movie theater, so I didn't actually pay for all seven times) and now I watch it on DVD as often as possible. It came out on DVD three days before my nineteenth birthday this year and my parents teased me, telling me that they weren't going to get it for me until it was actually the day of my birthday, haha! I almost cried, seriously.
Anyhow, it's still my very favorite movie ever. I just find it fascinating how talented he is, and the way his eyes can go from warm and accomodating to cold and stark and threatening over the span of like, thirty seconds. I think Jackson is the most complicated character I've ever seen in a movie, if I'm being honest, and I think Cillian is the reason I think like that, because there just seem to be so many layers to him.
Anyway, I didn't mean to ramble. Red Eye, definitely.
