my question is: How did he stand to do plays if he's that nervous in front of a live audience! I'm guessing he really gets in character and blocks everything out! SIGH I love the "Jittery" Cillian too!

I guess that acting can be a kind of therapy for some people.

I think its a big difference between playing on stage and really being yourself in front of so many people... And I am completely heart-broken, I cant download the video, its takes more than 5 hours and I have to disconnect my line every 2 hours to change the provider *sobbs*

Being onstage as yourself and acting is so much different. I remember when I was younger I used to be immensely shy, I wouldn't talk to anyone. When I started doing theatre (nothing serious, just local theatre) it was just completely different. I would be scared out of my mind before I went onstage, thinking I'd forgotten all my lines and the whole bit, but the moment I stepped onstage it just changed, I completely morphed into the character and forgot about who I was. It was as avoca said like a therapy for me and helped me to be a little more outgoing in my real life as well. I definitely miss being on stage, it's an incredible feeling. I agree, this man just makes you love him more and more... nauticlove, if you'd like I can try to upload the video on yousendit, someone mentioned it's much quicker to download there. I'll send you a link, you can try that. Definitely worth watching.

Well he likes to act do plays and movies, not to be famous in it self. So I guess he isn't that comfortable when the interest is on him personally. When you are acting out a role it's quite different, because it's not you but your character. At least that's the way I would feel about it.

It could also be that in a play you're given lines to rehearse and learn, but in a Q&A format, you don't know *what* bizarre things people may ask, or how to answer them. I imagine he's had some strange questions, so I would think that might add to the nervousness. He does seem to think pretty quick on his feet and come up with good answers, but I'd hate to be put on the spot like that.

I noticed this shy attitude also during the interview on the red carpet at red eye premiere. the man himself must be a little shy, regardless to what type of public event he's taking part.

the fact that he's shy makes me like him even more...i think it's a really ironic thing because he's in front of the camera all the and in the spotlight and stuff....i think i'd like it if he were shy as opposed to like really outgoing with an obnoxious attitude or something

Thanks for the yousendit link, now it's only taking me around half an hour to download instead of 4-6 hours.
Can't wait to see him, it wouldn't suprise me if just the sight of him would cure me from my cold xD

Maybe it's because he's just a really private person, and when it's all about him, that's kind of delving into his personal life, instead of his characters themselves.
