I posted this here instead of the Cillian Films thread because we still don't have any info that Cillian will be in the next movie. However, this is the first time I've read a title (The Dark Knight) and they've just confirmed that Heath Ledger will be playing The Joker. Christopher Nolan is directing again. well i know for sure he won't be in the next one cause that doesn't follow the Batman series, but Crane does come back!

It would be a smart move on their part to have Scarecrow make a cameo appearance. It would ensure that many of Cillian's fans would see the movie, even if they hadn't been planning to originally.  |

NOOO! I dont want Heath Ledger to play Joker...*tear drop* I was hoping the voice actor who originally did his voice or Johnny Depp. *tear* Damn rumors made me have my hopes up!!

Johnny Depp would have been a very interesting choice. Then I'd definitely go see it. I'd love to see his take on the character. However, no matter who we want, we're getting Heath Ledger. Maybe he'll surprise everyone who's not sure he's the right choice. I'm not sure I've seen him in anything, so I can't judge his ability to play the role "correctly," however that's defined by Batman fans.

Heath Ledger as the Joker? Ehhh... I dunno. His acting has been a bit iffy. I wonder if he can pull it off? I was hoping for Johnny to be the Joker as well. Guess we'll have to see. I'm sure the film will be good regardless.

hmm, im not sure i wouldve wanted to see johnny as the joker... im not sure why...
i think that heath ledger will be interesting. out of all the hollywood actors right now, i think that he can fit the part (i can definately imagine him in the makeup with the mouth....) however, i think its a sticky situation because ANYONE that they had cast as the joker will most definately be compared to jack nicholson. theres no way around it. i mean, i understand wanting to improve the movie as a whole... but because hes regarded by everyone (as fantastic as cillian was, haha) as the best batman villian...
well, actually, are they remaking the original batman, or are they just using the joker in a completely different movie/plot/situation? i guess that could drastically change the way that hes seen.
but heath ledger better be amazing in how he plays it, because of the above, and because he has become a very controversial actor because of the subject matter of brokeback and the way that he acts in more serious movies... i wasnt really that over the top impressed with him in brokeback, but i can see him as the joker. i thought he was interesting and good in cassanova... i think that he does very well in characters that portray a sense of humor, and thats the joker by name.......
okay, now that that rant is done... are they really going to call it the Dark Knight? thats bad...

The Dark Knight seems to be the title, but then, BB was originally called "The Intimidation Game" when they never intended to use that title, to keep fans away from potential spoilers. I don't think this new one will be a remake of the Michael Keaton one. Wasn't that the name, The Dark Knight, created for a later incarnation of Batman, created by Alan Moore? I keep hearing very good things about it (the graphic novel of that title).

Yah Scarecrow has to come back sometime soon in the movies... will it be Cillian? I sure hope so! Very interested to see the next Batman movie.

I love Heath Ledger, I never expected him in that role but I think he has the skills to pull it off nicely. I think he's a great actor, & as a bonus, also happens to be very attractive =D This is great, we'll have Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy & Heath Ledger....people will go to these Batman films just to drool, lol.
