just wanted to give ya heads up for this adorable israeli film called "walk on water". it's mentioned in relation to BOP in an article, canot recall which, and I was already curious about it for I saw trailers of it when it came out. so I checked it out recently and I just fell in love with it. it's a small film, that deals with important, tragic topics, it's very well done, poetic and someway it gives a positive message that touched me. I'd recommend you, if you get a chance to see it.

yeah I've seen that movie. Some parts were a little hard to believe but I liked how they showed the change in attitude over the generations.
Check out "Bonjour Monseuir Shlomi" (also israeli) that was a fun movie!!

sorry I didn't reply sooner... I don't want to over analyze the movie since its a pretty good movie... *Spoilers*** It was funny coz one of the guys was an Arab but gay....ther arnt a lot of those around you know....but I guess it shows how open Israel is I think...and that other scene where the lead charecter is harassing one of the shopkeepers coz he thinks the coat costs a lot less was a lil hard to believe...maybe I was reading into it too much it seemed to me like they were trying to show how hard it is for the palestinians to make a living in Israel coz of all the pressure...(which I don't know is always the case) Anyways...i liked how they tried to show all the different perspectives and views of the situation

ok, thanks for claryfying, irishsmile.
I think the scene with the palenstinian guy was realistic, but it may be just me. maybe mici is the right person to answer this.. and also your question about gay issues in israel.

well the movie for me is very realistic. it shows to the world what goes on in israel. the scene with the pelastinian guy is very realistic and shows the way both sides feel in here. this movie for me bring the past and the present together and it shows some things that on the outside world one would not understand nesseceraliy you need to see it in your own eyes to understand.

that's so true, you've to be at a crossroad to know which road to take.
mici, can ya tell us how's the situation in israel about gay issues? I ask since irishsmile brought up the topic: is it a gay friendly country? would a muslim guy feel comfy to be out, or would he feel obliged to be closeted like perhaps in many other countries?

in some areas gay issues is more exepteble then others. take tel aviv for exemple you have a love parade party once a year over there and on the other side there are parts that being gay is very much taboo. must of the its in very very religius places.
hope i answerd the question.
