Hey everyone and good morning! lol...well, its morning here...anyway, in Biology we were watching a movie because of finals and everything and since we've been studying genetics and stuff my teacher let us watch Gattaca. Ever heard of it?? Its really good and I can't help but-wait, crap...SPOILERS. READ NO FURTHUR IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT!! Yeah, but I can't help but keep crying out, "Kiss already!" and not just to the new Vincent and Irene but also to the old Jerome and the new Vincent. *sigh* Jude Law and Ethan Hawke...mm! I'm so dirty its sad...oh, and I love that part where they're checking up on the old Jerome (Jude Law) and the guy's like, "If your a pilot or whatever how are you in a wheelchair..." and stuff and Jerome goes after him saying what else but, "What's your number!!!" lol. That's SO great! K, I'm done...

OMG! I LOVE Gattaca. lol It's funny cause in my freshmen biology class, we watched it there, too. This was like 6 years ago. I think that's when I started to like Jude. "What's your number? WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER?!?" That is one of the greatest movie quotes in history. My sister and I always say it. lol I also like when he says, "My eyes are prettier." Wheeeeeee!
This is a great movie and I think everyone should see it.

I saw the movie when it first came out and Jude Law did do a spectacular performance here, but he's quite the actor as well. I'll have to watch it again, I can't seem to remember a lot of it unfortunately.

Oh, I love this movie. Such a great one!! I liked both Ethan Hawke and Jude Law there but the most intersting to me was the subject of the movie itself and I love it, how Vincent is betraying the whole system of Gattaca. I would loved to have watched it at school, but I´m out of it for such a long time, LOL ;D BTW blackberry: did you know that the movie title is combined by the first letters of the 4 components of the human DNA (Adenine, Guanine, Thymine, Cytonsine)? I never thought about it and when I got that info was was like "Wow, that´s true!!" The "older generation" (30 and up ) might still remember the book "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. I had to read it at school, but I think, it wasn´t biology but English class. Who else of you knows the book?

Yes fantastic movie. I was very touched by it. The story about how Ethan Hawkes character won the swimming competion with his perfect brother was amazing.
*joins the group of people going to watch Gattaca very soon*
I'm not 30 and up but I read Brave New World in english. That one and The Stepford Wives, which also made a great impression. The movie sucked though.

OMG, Gattaca. Jude Law was hot in that film and he was SOOOOO funny. I love sarcastic men, and he always seems to play them...I think my fav sarcastic line was Music from another Room...LOL, the part where he's supposed to be in a play, playing the sacrificial pig, and the people on stage are all, "Where's our pig? It must be here somewhere...WHERE'S OUR PIG?!!" Cause he's talking instead of going onstage, and he finally turns and yells, "He's coming, oink oink!!!" Towards the stage, and then when he finally goes out, they proceed to beat him up with baseball bats cause they are soooo mad. I had to paus the film I was laughing so hard...
Wow am I ever off subject. Sorry. Back to Gattaca. I loved the idea of that film, I told my history teacher to watch it when we were studying eugenics. Crazy. I would have loved the film a whole lot more if Jude hadn't died....sorry, he was just too hot to die, no matter how sad he was and all the other reasons he had. *pout* Anyway, I'm going away now.

I loved Gattaca. I never saw it in my biology class. Our teacher played us the first Austin Powers movie instead! (he really thought he was hip). I agree with Alex though, I enjoyed the storyline more than anything else. Jude law was great in it. The "older generation" (30 and up ) might still remember the book "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley. I had to read it at school, but I think, it wasn´t biology but English class. Who else of you knows the book? I know that book page by page. I had to write an essay on it both in highschool and college! You should see the copy I have. The whole thing is highlighted in 3 different colors and has post-its and footnotes everywhere! I love sarcastic men, and he always seems to play them...I think my fav sarcastic line was Music from another Room.... You have no idea how much I love that film. That's the one where I first noticed him! He's so cute, sweet, and British! And that Pig scene was hilarious. Especially when he starts running after her in the street and can't get the head off and he tells her he wants to have kids with her and the taxi driver says, "Let's hope they look like the mother!" lol!

Brave New World is a great book! I feel like reading it again. I first read it in my senior English class. I miss that class!
