I saw it today and I thought it is a fantastic film, one of the best of Ang Lee. Heath Ledger is a revelation. The cinematography is worth the price of admission alone, a truly beautiful film. The only set back I thought is not the portrait of the "two gay cowboys", but its cramming of twenty years into a two hour movie. Their are images that are very powerful, as of this writing, I just can't shake them. At the end of the film there wasn't a dry eye in the theatre. This film must have been so difficult to make, but Lee has again impressed. Off Topic- They were giving out Brokeback Mountain Posters and Breakfast on Pluto posters and cards also!(They showed the previews of BOP I got a few; ;D

I've been dying to see this movie. It looks amazing, and the story is intriguing as well. I'd love to read the original story. Unfortunately for me, it's on limited, and there's no place near me showing it right now.
Another problem: a 14 year old wanting to see a "gay cowboy movie" that's rated R doesn't always go over so well with some people. Not good for me.

"What is up with you and gay people right now?" LOL! My dad always has this weird look on his face when this movie is mentioned because well...he's a male. lol I think my mom wants to see it. It was annoying when I was younger and that they would be suspicious on what movies I wanted to see.

oh, I am seeing that in denmark in december or january, with malle LOL there it's released on xmas day. here it should have premiered in dec. but they have delayed it to janauary. what a shame: it won venice film festival and they should have taken advantage of the publicity back in sept. for the release. stupid marketing rules.. however, I have read the book (which is fantastic!! I recommend you), and I am looking very forward to see the film! it got great critics here when it was screened in venice, in the fall.
