Yay! The hobbits won!
I'm exhausted...the Oscar's over and everyone has finally left my house, and they even cleaned up. ;D
Anyone else watched it?!

Oscars!

a guilty pleasure, every year... - although, this year was kind of a snooze-fest - no sloppy kisses, no angry diatribes, no fashion disasters, it was too polite! (I got so bored about halfway through that I made an informed decision to get plastered drunk, which made the evening much more tolerable, I must say...) anyway! some kudos are definitley in order... I was so happy for Sofia Coppola! not only a magnificent director but also a lovely person - her shyness and awkwardness is so sweet and refreshing, she was the most genuine character of the night. (and just to see a young female director up there, holding her own with all the boys...well, as an aspiring filmmaker myself, that was very encouraging and Sean Penn is the man! finally!!! how many years has he been doing fiercely brilliant work, and it took 'em this long to recognise it (maybe because of his status as a rebel in the industry?) - it was so great to see him up there, standing ovation and all... and later, backstage in the press room, he was just beaming, with the trophy in one hand, and a vodka in the other... I love this guy so cheers to Sofia and Sean! the outsiders stole the show! and cheers, of course, to the hobbits and to Peter Jackson...they truly earned it. - Tasha, future Oscar winner? ...okay, maybe I'd settle for and Independent Spirit Award ;D (on second thought, screw the awards! honestly, I'd just be happy enough to get Cillian on my casting couch...maybe someday... ahem!)

I have to say that this year's Oscars was extremely boooooring! My girlfriends and I played quarters during the show that's how boring it was. Yes, quarters! So, I hear you, Tasha, about getting plastered.
How silly were the "jingles" for the movie-noms at the Independent Spirit Awards? The first one, I thought, 'ok, how cute', then it went on and on. Bill Murray's acceptance speech was classic and I loved it. Hey, you'll be on there some day...keep working hard, dear!

you know what the most entertaining moment of the whole show was? - that commercial with Martin Scorsese trying to get his photos developed! "Ahh! I've lost the narrative thread!" - yeah, a flippin' advert! but it was sooo funny they shoulda ran that commercial during the Indie Awards too, yeesh... oh, I do hope I get up there someday...if only to raise a little hell and maybe liven up the joint me and Mr. Penn at the bar...I'd order him a double-vodka...that would be something
