I haven't seen the 25th Hour but for some reason have always known that it existed, always known that Ed was in it and heard it was good. I have no idea what it is about but have always meant to see it. Just one of those films on my list of movies to see, you know?
Whats it about? I'll boost it up on my list of films to see haha, especially since I am running out of obscure James McAvoy TV and films to download!

In 25th Hour, Ed plays a drug dealer who gets caught and gets arrested. The day before he goes to jail, he meets with his dad and then he gets together with his friends from school and his girlfriend for one last party. I have to warn you; it's a lot of dialogue. My sister was pretty bored with it, but I was quite intrigued. I thought the script was pretty sharp, so I enjoyed it. Glad you're taking an interest in Ed. I totally want to see James' films, but they're just so hard for me to find!

So I just finished AHX. It's 4:14am, haha. I didn't really have a chance to watch it earlier. But it was a very good movie. Ed's definitely a great, versatile actor. He can go from a Neo-Nazi to Smoochy the Rhino to the Narrator in Fight Club. And watching him as a Neo-Nazi, his character was completely believable. I mean I would believe him if I knew he wasn't acting. And that's pretty amazing since I know he's the complete opposite in real life. The end was really sad and a lot of the scenes in the movie were hard to watch. But overall I think it was a great movie, and an important one.

Glad you were able to watch AHX! Ed was great in it, wasn't he? He was a bit too good that it was scary. I don't know how he tunneled in all that hatred, anger, and violence for the role, but it was very believable. It was a very controversial and risky role for him to do, but I'm glad that he did it. I'm very happy that he's so versatile - he's done everything - drama, comedy, thriller, romance, bad guy, good guy, etc. Anyway, what other Ed films have you seen? I haven't seen all of his films yet. Still need to see The People vs. Larry Flynt, Everyone Says I Love You, Rounders, The Score, and Down in the Valley. I would recommend you to see 25th Hour if you haven't seen it. It's quite "talky", but I thought Ed was brilliant in it, and the movie was brilliant in of itself. I loved The Painted Veil - it was absolutely beautiful - if you are into period romances, it's another Ed Norton must see.

I've seen Fight Club, Death to Smoochy, Red Dragon, 25th Hour, and The Italian Job. All were good in their own ways and Ed was great in all of them.

You have to see Primal Fear if you haven't seen it! It's a really old movie, but it was Ed's first movie role ever - and one of his best, too. He was nominated for an Oscar for that role.
And again, I would highly recommend The Painted Veil. It is such a great movie! I cannot say enough good things about it. It's too bad that it was so underrated. Definitely see it!

^I just read the IMDb plot summaries for both of those and both sound interesting (and are both pretty highly rated by the users). I'll have to add them to my list of movies to see (it's adding up so quickly!).

Argh! I can't believe I missed the TV premiere of The Incredible Hulk trailer! Will it come on again? Does anybody know? I just watched it on youtube, but it would've been nice to see on my big screen. Here's the link if anybody's interested: youtube.com/watch?v=MEcLISd5mZQ Here's the link to the trailer in HD: youtube.com/watch?v=QnBNTtgo2mY It looks awesome! So excited!I am sooo excited for this! ;D Ed looks hot, and I hope it'll be a big successful blockbuster for him. I heard he does big movies like this to make money for movie projects that he is more passionate about (like what he did with Red Dragon; supposedly all the money he made went to financing 25th Hour). Anyway, I hope Ed will bring a new refreshing take to the Hulk because I've heard that Ang Lee's version was pretty bad, but I've only seen bits and parts of it. Is it really that bad? Just curious.

^Yeah, I saw that online. Looks good. I never saw the other Hulk movie, but apparently it was terrible. Ed's a good actor though, so as long as the direction is good, I'm sure it will be good.

I'm glad you're excited about it, quackattack. I know it looks like a standard summer action movie, but it'll be great eye candy at the least. Anyway, I hope it'll bring Ed even more of the exposure he deserves.
Well, I just saw Down in the Valley recently. I don't hate it, but I can't say that I really liked it all that much. Ed gave a really good performance, but I just found his character to be really annoying and lame. It's to the point that I didn't even have sympathy for what happened to him at the end, and I felt bad for feeling that way because it's Ed Norton, for god's sake, and I love him to death. Oh, and personally, I found the pairing of Ed and Evan Rachel Wood to be quite creepy and not romantic at all. He had good chemistry with her (like with all of his female co-stars), but I couldn't get past the fact that she was so young! In my opinion, Ed's best on-screen pairing is with Naomi Watts. It was so believable - the tension between their characters was so palpable, and their love was really beautiful. They worked really well together and were a great on-screen team. Rosario Dawson from 25th Hour comes in at a distant second and so does Helena Bonham Carter. She looks odd, but I have to admit that the feisty attitude she brought to her Fight Club character worked.
Anyway, I feel a bit bad that I didn't like Down in the Valley as much as I should because Ed was a producer for it which means it was probably a project he was quite passionate about. Oh well. If I had to rank it, it's probably near the bottom of my list:
1. Fight Club 2. The Painted Veil 3. 25th Hour 4. American History X 5. Primal Fear 6. Death to Smoochy 7. The Illusionist 8. Kingdom of Heaven 9. Keeping the Faith 10. Down in the Valley 11. Red Dragon 12. The Italian Job

I just watched Keeping the Faith...silly movie but gosh....Ed was fantastically gorgeous I think it's the only time I've seen him play a happy funny character with a smile on his face! And I love the blond look!

I just watched Keeping the Faith...silly movie but gosh....Ed was fantastically gorgeous I think it's the only time I've seen him play a happy funny character with a smile on his face! And I love the blond look! So you like Ed blonde? Blondes are more fun, eh? He's alright blonde; I like him better brunette. So hot. If you want to see him blonde again, you should definitely check out Red Dragon. He was okay in that movie; it was a more conventional dramatic role. He did the best he could with what he had to work with. Keeping the Faith was just a typical romantic comedy, but I was also glad to see him in such a happy role. Have you seen Death to Smoochy? If you want to see Ed in another lighter role, you should definitely check it out. It's quite hilarious. So I recently re-watched AHX on TV. It was a much, much cleaner and edited version, but I was really moved by Ed's performance the second time around. It definitely moves up my list past 25th Hour. Oh, and I just watched the Woody Allen musical, Everyone Says I Love You. I really enjoyed it; it was quite amusing. Ed was so cute and young in it. He sings too! He's not up to par as the professional singers or anything, but gah, so adorable! I also found this song that was cut out from Fight Club called "P*nis Song" where he sings and plays guitar with Brad Pitt. So funny! Not so bad singing either! Here's the link: youtube.com/watch?v=GXFvMrWWCYM Is there anything Ed can't do? 1. Fight Club2. The Painted Veil3. American History X4. 25th Hour5. Primal Fear6. Death to Smoochy7. The Illusionist8. Kingdom of Heaven9. Everyone Says I Love You10. Keeping the Faith11. Down in the Valley12. Red Dragon13. The Italian Job
Oh, Haley, sorry to go off topic, but I was wondering which of Ed's on-screen love interests is your favorite? There's been this poll going on in Ed's imdb board, so that's why I'm curious. Looks like Helena's ahead as of right now. Naomi's my favorite obviously as you can tell from my icons and Painted Veil rants. Oh, and everyone's free to respond, not just Haley. If anyone's interested, that is. oooooooo that's a bit difficult...I loved the end of Fight Club, where they're standing together with the buildings crashing down But Helena Bonham Carter kinda creeps me out! But I think I'm gonna go with that one! It is close with Naomi though! [0]__Liv Tyler - The Incredible Hulk I've seen pieces of Red Dragon and do love Ed in it I'll have to see the whole thing, but I just didn't think it was as good as Manhunter (Original Red Dragon). And I've seen bits of Death to Smoochy, but I heard that was pretty bad too? I dunno, I'll see them eventually. I love the blond look, but I prefer brown. And I don't like him with facial hair either

Oops. I forgot to put in my vote for Naomi. I didn't really mean for it to be an actual poll. [0]__Drew Barrymore - Everyone Says I Love You [0]__Fairuza Balk - American History X [8]__Helena Bonham-Carter - Fight Club [0]__Jenna Elfman - Keeping the Faith [0]__Catherine Keener - Death to Smoochy [1]__Mary Louise-Parker - Red Dragon [5]__Rosario Dawson - 25th Hour [1]__Evan Rachel Wood - Down in the Valley [2]__Jessica Biel - The Illusionist [7]__Naomi Watts - The Painted Veil. [0]__Liv Tyler - The Incredible Hulk Yes, that last scene with Helena and Ed in Fight Club was quite endearing. I do agree that Helena's a bit creepy as well. When I first watched Fight Club, I was thinking, "Out of all the actresses, they had to pick a really freaky one." She really grew on me though. She was absolutely perfect as Marla and had great chemistry with Ed. I loved that scene when they're in the kitchen, and she showed him her bridesmaid's dress ... Yeah, Red Dragon was just "eh, okay." Not too bad but not too good either. On the other hand, you must see Death to Smoochy ! At first I was skeptical of it, too, because it was not highly praised by critics. I was pleasantly surprised - it's quite good. Very funny! Ed was so bright-eyed and adorable in it. I can tolerate Ed with his beard. It's just not my favorite look of his; I prefer him clean shaven. I cannot tolerate the hairstyle he had back in 2003 though wireimage.com/SearchResults.aspx?igi=27858&s=edward%20norton&sfld=C&vwmd=e Yecch. He looks so old. My absolute favorite look of his is somewhere along the lines of his look in Fight Club and The Painted Veil- clean shaven to slight roughage with short brown hair. I think he looks best in suits. HOT.

uuuuugh those pictures are awful! that haircut was soooo bad! Yikes. Well alright, guess I'll have to see Death to Smoochy! I'll probably like it just cuz Ed's in it. Yup. My favorite look is definitely the Fight Club era, just brown shortish hair. No baldy-ness (like AHX) and no blackish hair/facial hair (like The Italian Job...UGH so ugly).
