I didn't realize that he was in The Chronicles of Narnia until very recently! Haha. Unfortunately, it's the only movie I've seen him in (sad, huh?). Due to his increased media recognition this year though, I'm getting really interested in him. His recognition kind of reminds me of when Cillian started getting big back in 2005. I don't know why; it just does. Anyway, his recent films look pretty good, so I'll be sure to check them out! : )

I just watched The Last King of Scotland and it was unbelievably brilliant! He was phenomenal, as multiple of you have already mentioned and I am floored as well that not only did he not win the Academy's best supporting actor in a film, but was not even nominated! The fact that he was not nominated is ludicrous to me.
Last King of Scotland was amazing though and James McAvoy is definitely a new favorite actor of mine, giving Cillian a little competition I must say.
Rukia, have you seen LKOS yet? You absolutely must if you have not!
I'll be watching another of his films tomorrow night, Starter for 10, I hardly know anything about it and do not even know if it is supposed to be any good. We'll see!

You absolutely must if you have not! New year, new man, huh?  Yeah, I agree with you kaatopp - James McAvoy intrigues me in a way that Cillian does. He's so talented, and definitely an actor to watch out for. Cillian's still the main man in my heart though!  Eric Bana comes in second for me - he's so so so HOT and talented, too; I loved him in Munich and Troy - he has very expressive eyes that make me melt. James McAvoy comes in a close third for me. Sorry, James! I guess only time will tell... heheh I haven't seen LKOS yet. I've heard great things about it though. I've heard it's violent? I don't know; I get a bit squemish about genocide violence... I think I'll see James' most recent films first and work my way down. Becoming Jane and Penelope look pretty cute. Penelope's been made for a while now; I don't know why it's taken so long for it to be released. And have you guys seen the trailer for Wanted?! OMG~ Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy?! HOTNESS!  I can totally see Cillian in James' place, too- isn't it a dream for all of us to see Angie and Cillian onscreen together? Oh, and kaatopp, I LOVE the James McAvoy picture you have as your siggy! He's gorgeous in it. |

Yayyy Rukia, you are like my very special Atonement/James McAvoy friend!
Anyhow, do see Last King of Scotland, my friend told me there was lots of torture in it but that is false. Only in about the last 30 minutes do you see real violence. Let me tell you, it was quite gruesome but worth it to watch because the film is just so great. This film, while addresses the fact that Ugandan's are being killed on a genocidal scale, does not show their deaths or tortures in the same way that, say, Hotel Rwanda did. Don't worry, this movie isnt really about the thousands of innocent lives lost, its more about the new Ugandan president and how James McAvoy became tangled into his horrible web of insanity. So anyway, yes there is violence but not until the very end, I thought the whole movie was going to be filled with horror and death but it is not.
I watched James' other film Starter for 10 this afternoon and it was really good, really cute. James is amazing in it. He is simply a really great actor, definitely see Starter for 10 if you want something light-hearted, smart and funny.
And I am so glad you like my sig! Nothing fancy, just a crop of a picture, but James does look SO good in it!
I have not seen previews for Wanted but i have seen photos. I hope the film is good. I am excited for it because of my new fondness for James but I am not a HUGE fan of Angelina. I certainly do not hate her, and she is gorgeous of course, I just hope its not some crappy thriller/action flick. Fingers crossed!

Angie's a bit overrated sometimes, but she's not too bad of an actress. Anyway, James looks hot in it (soo cut)! That's good enough for me. Thanks for the link to Wanted! It actually looks like it could be pretty enjoyable, I think it will be a good summer flick and yes, James looks incredible.
Penelope looks really cute too, I adore Christina Ricci also. I just wish James had his Scottish accent in these films!
Yeah, but definitely check out The Last King of Scotland and Starter for 10. Two totally different films but James is great in both!

Hahah, yes James has currently taken me by storm. This happens to me frequently, but at the end of the day I always go back to Cillian.
