Is anyone else really hooked on this show? They had me at the first episode, actually. I wasn't interested in watching yet another medical series, but some of the previews looked interesting. I was already taping Desperate Housewives for my mom while she watched something else, so I just let the tape run. I figured if it sucked, we could just tape over it.
Well, it was much better than I expected. I like the characters, the writing, the drama, the comedy...it's pretty soapy, but I don't mind.
George has been my favorite character from the beginning, but I also like Cristina, Izzie, Burke, Bailey. Not so crazy about Alex, Dr. McDreamy, or Dr. Mrs. McDreamy, but they're okay.
Tonight is the second part of a very tense cliff-hanger. Last week's ep was called "The End of the World" and tonight's is "As We Know It". All the episode titles are from song titles. I think "The End of the World As We Know It" is a song by R.E.M. I don't recognize most of the music, but people who actually listen to the radio might. ;D Mom's getting me the first season on DVD as a Valentine's Day present.
So how did you get hooked on the show, and why?

I'm hooked too. I've been watching since the first ep. I love the characters. I'm a George fan too. He is so cute. And of course McDreamy.
Last night was the best ep so far (or course I say that every Sunday night). They raise the bar with every ep and continue to meet or beat it.

Last night's ep was excellent! So very sad. George and Bailey's scenes were wonderful.
I must be hooked; I think I signed up for 7 or 8 GA communities on LJ the other day, and I've bookmarked some fan fic to read. Not to mention adding George and possibly some others to my fan fic here.

George has changed so much since the first ep. I think the turning point was when he was in the elevator and practically save that guys life. He was great with Baily last night.
I can't wait til next week!

When we were watching that scene, with Meredith and George, my mom actually said, "Oh, don't do that to poor George! He doesn't want a pity f*ck!" I agree, he wants a relationship, not just sex, and Meredith just doesn't get it. I think it's just a one-time thing that doesn't mean much to her, and I don't think she realizes how much it means to George. We'll find out soon.

I've never liked Meredith, but at the moment I positively hate her. A big part of it was the way she was introduced (and the show opened). The whole casual sex thing, the "why do I need to know your name" type of attitude, is something I can't understand, and when it's the first thing we know about someone, it predisposes me to distance myself from them. But now, she's really hurt George, and that's unforgivable! Sigh. Yeah, I know they're fictional characters. But still...

I get the feeling we're supposed to like her, and maybe sympathize with her, since she's usually the one doing the voiceovers. But I find it difficult to identify with her on any level.

Just a reminder: Tonight's ep is a repeat, but it's a really good one from earlier this season. Title: "Into You Like A Train."

I havent seen it. I've heard its really good, but I don't like watching shows if they are in the middle of a season or something, and I havent seen anything else.
Some girl from my school who graduated lats year, her uncle is Patrick Dempsey....................poor poor guy, he went to Buckfield for a little. Thank god he went to St. Dom's later.........Going from Buckfield to St. Doms is like going to Harvard without any previous education.
At least theres one good actor coming from Maine

You might want to try watching next week's show (Sunday, ABC, 10:00 P.M.), QS. It's going to be a clip show that's meant to get people caught up on what they've missed. It's probably meant to lure new viewers in. Like a whole episode of "Previously, on Grey's Anatomy..."!
