I love the Saw movies because of the twists in the end. I am not sure how it got started (I theorize it was The Sixth Sense), but something set the standard where all suspense films these days must have a twist at the end. It was nice at first, but now it's just so cliche, in my opinion. They're rarely a real surprise anymore since the audience has become accustomed to expecting twists and looking for the signs of what the twist will be. In many cases, you can easily guess the twist well before the end of the movie. I don't know about anyone else, but it pisses me off when that happens. I don't like paying $6 or $7 for a predictable movie.
When I saw the first Saw movie (*SPOILER*), I thought it was going to be another predictable/boring twist when they revealed that the hospital attendant was really the killer. I thought "The killer's some random character briefly introduced earlier in the film. *yawn* How many times have I heard that one?" I started picking my stuff up off the floor to get out of the theater before the rest of the audience, something I do when I've gotten bored at the end of a movie, and then I was shocked when the REAL killer was not only a different character than the one they made you think it was, but the "dead" guy on the floor! My jaw dropped! I thought that was the coolest twist ever. It was ingenious of the writers to put in a fake twist just to throw you off the scent of the real one, which was brilliantly executed (no pun intended), imo.
The second one was equally exciting. I can't wait for Saw III!

Sorry...doubt Adam is coming back ever again but Leigh and James are both writing SAW III as Darren Lynn Bousman is directing it.

I'm glad Leigh is writing, he is just awesome! I still wish James was directing, he's really good. As for Adam, I saw his body in Saw 2 . There still is a fragment of hope that Dr. Gordan is still alive and will maybe be in the 3rd, its very faint but there's hope.

maybe...but if you watch SAW, it seems to be a very long run for Tapp and Zep to get down to the room and Lawrence was losing a LOT of blood so...since it is just a movie than I guess there is some sort of hope.
