I can tell you, most likely everyone in Paris is very unfriendly and not willing to talk English...
New Zealand sounds nice though, I'll have to go there too some day!

yes, i've heard the people in paris are not so nice... but it isn't true at all! How can you say it without knowing! For example, I'm very friendly  okey, well some people are not willing to talk english because they don't know how to speak it, in France learning others languages isn't as important as it is in others countries, but a lot of people here can talk english!! We ARE friendly, but I think we are shy when we must talk english... |

Come to think of it, there are some nice people I remember... Like that guy who thought we were trying to hit on him (because of our sucky french we were saying something different than inteded *cough*), the couple on the Metro who could speak English as well as we spoke French and a nice transvestite... And that creepy Italian guy trying to hit on me in three different languages counts as nice, too, I guess. Good times.
I'll have to return to Paris sometime when I can actually speak French.

lol I see your problem... Me and German it's two very different things ^^ I've been studying it for five years and I think I just can't do a simple sentence except "Hallo, ich heisse Mylène, und du wie heisst du?" lool

French is so incredibly hard... My third year's just over, and I nearly failed because of French. Got an D. *cough* Only french sentence one would hear me say is "Je ne comprend rien. Je parle francaise comme une vache espagnol." And I don't even know how to write it properly... ;D

I understand, French is pretty hard but you don't need to know very much things to make you being understood, whereas German is so hard, I never put the verb in the right place! and the adjectives... *cry* It's: "Je ne comprends rien, je parle français comme une vache espagnole" You see you're not that bad  |

yes.... i wanted to learn french or german but alas i live in Texas which means i'm forced to learn Spanish
