Chapter Seven:
Lisa’s eyelashes slowly fluttered open, as she awoke from her temporary Jackson-induced coma. As her eyes tried to adjust, she looked around the huge bedroom. Everything was dark, except for the single, dim lamp on a side table beside the bed. Next to the lamp, a seabreeze, which immediately sent her back a couple of hours in a flashback of how she ended up there.

Jackson.

She assumed that he’d made the drink for her, considering the circumstances before she’d been knocked into a silent sleep. But knowing that Jackson made it, sent her stomach into sickness and she figured she was better off not touching it at all. Her head was throbbing in pain, as she tried to move out of bed. Lisa put her hand to her head, pressing it lightly against her skin. She winced in pain and quickly brought her hand back down to her side. She noticed the dried blood stain that was now on the back of her hand and began to panic a little. She returned her hand to her forehead and rubbed the tips of her fingers around where her hand was previously. Lowering her hand back down to eye-level, she noticed dried blood that was now on her fingertips. She rested her head back on the pillow and laid there, staring at the canopy above her.

What did he do to me?

Lisa laid there for a couple more minutes in silence, wondering where Jackson was. The thought scared her. The room was so dark. He could be anywhere in the room, right this very moment, lurking in the shadows, feasting his haunting, blue eyes upon her.

Watching, waiting, anticipating.

Through one failed attempt of escaping, she could always try again. Even though she was afraid of a repeat of events, she couldn’t stay any longer. She couldn’t be dragged into another crazy plan of Jackson’s and she didn’t want to be around for a third time (counting once from a year ago) to be knocked unconscious. Though she was running out of possible escape plans, she still had one hope. Her cell phone. She smirked, as she reached into her left breast pocket to take it out and dial Cynthia at the front desk. But to Lisa’s streak of luck, it was gone.

F*ck, f*ck, f*ck.

Lisa patted herself down trying to find her cell phone.

It has to be around here somewhere.

”Maybe it fell under the bed or around the bed,” she thought to herself.

Struggling, she got up out of bed and kneeled down onto the carpet feeling around for her cell phone. Lisa couldn’t see anything besides the area of carpet to the right of her that was in the light of the lamp. She didn’t feel anything and now, once again, she didn’t know what to do. She slowly got back onto her feet and proceeded to sit on the edge of the bed.

”Looking for this?” said a shadow in the doorway.

It was Jackson, holding Lisa’s cell phone firmly in his right hand. Her eyes widened at him and she now, officially knew that she was helpless.

”Give that back to me NOW,” Lisa said in a firm voice.

”Why, Lis? So that you can make a phone call downstairs and get yourself out of this? Heh, I don’t think so. You have plenty of other phone calls to make,” he said, slowly walking over to her sitting on the side of the bed.

It was like he could read her mind. Obviously, Lisa knew already that he was good at reading people and clearly, he was still good at that. He took a seat next to her on the edge of the bed. Lisa slowly backed up, sitting on a pillow with her back against the headboard. She looked like prey trapped in a corner.

”You need to stop all of this. I have a job to do and I’m not going to be trapped in my own hotel,” she told him, firmly gripping the bedspread with one hand.

”Once you stop trying to escape me and you do what I came here to get you to do, you’ll be free to go, if you don’t try another rash action stunt. Another episode and I may have to kill you next time.”

Lisa just stared at him like he was crazy. He had a menacing look on his face that was thriving on the terror in her eyes; that tiny bit of terror that he could catch a glimpse of from the lamp light. She looked away from him, not being able to bear his gleaming stare any longer. She turned her head to the side and looked over at the lamp and the seabreeze, still sitting there untouched.

”There’s no Tylenol so, you may want to drink that. Your choice though,” Jackson said, turning his gaze between Lisa’s forehead and the drink, sarcastically.

”Knowing what you’ve already done to me, you’ve probably poisoned it,” Lisa spat back at him.

”Right, I come all this way to find you to get your help and then I’m gonna kill you before I even get you to do what I came here for. That makes sense, Lis. Did I REALLY hit you that hard on the head?”

”You know what,” Lisa said pausing.

She rolled off the other side of the bed and walked out of the bedroom door into the hallway.

”Lis, you can trust me when I say you might not want to go downstairs right now,” Jackson said in a serious tone, walking slowly behind her.

Lisa stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to look at Jackson.

”And why wouldn’t I want to go downstairs, Jack?”

”To put it plainly, you might see something you don’t want to see,” he replied, expressionless.

”Yeah…” she said, in disbelief as she kept walking and headed for the stairs.

Jackson ran up behind her and grabbed her shoulder to turn her around.

”I mean it,” he said, letting his piercing blue eyes bore into hers.

”Will you just TELL me what you need me to do, so I can LEAVE and get out of this mess? What time is it now?” she asked, pausing to look at her watch. “It’s 8:34. You’ve had me for 4 hours now and you STILL haven’t mentioned ANYTHING. If you expect me to stay here, SPIT IT OUT, JACK,” she said yelling at him.

”Fine,” Jackson said, pushing Lisa into the wall once again.

She winced in pain, as she tried to focus on Jackson’s face.

”You want it now? I’ll give it to you now, Lis. Alan Browne, your friend, has to be put on a cruise tomorrow out of Miami at 7pm. He’s allowed to bring anybody he wants. His wife, children, anybody. Of course, you’re going to be there too. All you have to do is make arrangements and call him to get him on that cruise. You’re good at making up stories and lying to people. The phone call should be no different for you,” he said in a harshly accented whisper.

”And what, do you expect me to set him up so you can kill him too?” Lisa asked, in the same harsh whisper.

”I’m not the one killing him,” he said, smirking.

”Well sorry, I’m not helping you kill somebody AGAIN,” she replied, pushing his hands off his shoulders and heading for the stairs.

Jackson followed behind her down the stairs.

”Whatever you do, promise not to scream,” he said in a gentle voice.

”Why would I scr…”

They rounded the corner of the stairs and Lisa stopped dead in her tracks. She let out a muffled cry and Jackson reached in front of her, placing his hands firmly over her mouth.

”I told you not to scream,” he said whispering into her ear.

Lisa began to shake convulsively to get out of Jackson’s grasp and to find something to hold herself up on. She grabbed onto the railing, as tears filled her eyes and she began to sob profusely. There, in front of her, was Joe Reisert laying unconsciously on the floor, as one of Jackson’s colleagues stood over him with a gun. To the left of her father, Sasha Greenley tied and bound to a chair. To the right, Bryan Greenley.

”LET THEM GO!” Lisa shouted at Jackson, in between the tears flowing down her cheeks.

”They will go, after we’re done playing a little game of 3 strikes. From here on, if you do anything and I mean anything to ruin plans, the 3 of them will be killed one, by one, by one. 3 strikes, Lis. And trust me when I say, time is running thin. Plus,” he said pausing his speech and choking Lisa against the railing. “You lied to me about the Greenley’s. We’ll have to have a little chat about that. You already know what happens when you lie, Lis. You know what’s going to happen next?”

Lisa grabbed at his fingers trying to pry them off of her neck. She began coughing and gagging, as Sasha and Bryan helplessly watch her being suffocated. Jackson formed a gun with his left hand and held his hand to Lisa’s head.

”THIS is going to be THEM, if you lie again or if anything else gets messed up on your accord.”

”Stt…ttt…op…” Lisa said, shaking and suffocating.

”Stop? You want me to stop?” he said, teasing her.

Lisa’s eyes rolled back in her head, as she was on the verge of passing out again, until Jackson forcefully slammed her back against the wall, releasing his grip. Lisa clutched at her neck from the pain her head was receiving.

”Now,” Jackson said, pausing to pull Lisa’s cell phone out of his pocket. “I believe you have a phone call to make."

I am hatig Jackson even more - which is sssssooooo good!! All I could see was Cillian's face when he told her to just drink the seabreeze and when he first stood in the doorway with her cell phone in her hand!

Can't hardly wait. Shannon, you're amazing! I can't wait to see how Lise tried to get out of this one - Jackson loves tormenting her doesn't he? And we still have her "rapist" to contend with - oh, are you putting a confrontation between him and Jackson??

Sorry - I know I am slobbering all over your story but can you really blame me??

oooo! he's so evil! I love it! I love it (clapping) I do feel sorry for Lisa though. she has gotten thrown around by Jackson a few too many times. But I guess, just like in Red Eye, it's his way of making sure she complies with all his plans!

Yes, please please do Shannon! I have to say poor Lisa because of Jackson choking her s many times, and headbutting her....but it him its necissary and if she just didn't lie to him all the time she'd be in a lot less pain. I can't hate Jackson.....even if I tryed
