Well it just so happens its right here.
Not sure if I like how I wrote certain parts, but what can I say. Here it is
Chapter Tres
The next thing Lisa knew, Jackson’s hand was on her arm and he was waking her up. Lisa groaned and rolled over to her back, stalling before she had to get out of the warmth of the bed. She watched Jackson at the table, looking over some papers, smiling a little at his face, which was deep in concentration. Finally he looked up at her and gestured her out of bed. Lisa sighed and got up, her eyes tired. The clock read 5:30 in the morning. She sighed again after she stretched and grabbed some clothes and headed into the bathroom. After she’d cleaned up and dressed, she stepped back into the room. She was quickly ushered out the door by Jackson, who held both their bags, and they retraced their steps from the night before through the building and into the early morning. The light in the eastern sky was just beginning to edge towards them.
A lone plane sat on the runway. He led her to it, and two men standing near it came into view. Jackson nodded to them before hurrying up onto the plane. He dropped their bags and went back out to talk to the men, leaving Lisa in the roomy private cabin of the plane. He came back on not long after, and after a few moments the plane took off. Lisa held her breath as the plane ascended into the air, trying not to show the familiar fear she always felt from flying. Jackson knew her too well, though, or perhaps he remembered her anxiety as the plane had taken off on their first flight together to Miami, for not long after the plane left the ground he slipped his arm around hers and gave her a little grin. “No worries for this flight. Not only is there anyone to harass you and force you to make a call as part of an assassination attempt, but like I told you yesterday-our accommodations are to be only the best.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’ll see.”
Lisa was too tired to press farther. She closed her eyes and gradually nodded off to sleep with her head on Jackson’s shoulder. Once he knew she was asleep, he took the opportunity to lightly brush his fingertips over her cheek and to run his fingers softly through her hair.
They landed a couple hours later. Lisa had fallen asleep and was softly awakened by Jackson. “Time to go,” he murmured, and helped her up. He holstered their bags over his shoulder and led her off of the plane and into the parking lot of another small airport. The sun was beginning to set, and Lisa couldn’t hide her amazement at the beauty of her surroundings. The sloping mountains rose up dramatically in the distance, and the colors behind them were almost surreal in their loveliness. Jackson led her to a silver Lexus and opened the door for her. The right was smooth and comforting, and Lisa drank in the scenery. They had not driven long until Jackson pulled into the entryway of a driveway, almost hidden in trees. “Ever been to California?” he asked.
“Nope,” she replied.
Jackson slipped a card from the folder the man back at the office had given to him. “Have you?” Lisa asked.
The gates opened, and they began to drive up a rather long driveway. “Born and raised,” he said.
Suddenly a vast, gorgeous house came into view. It was white, with steps leading up to a grand doorway and two pillars on either side. It was set away from the road, and the yard around it gently sloped away, blanketed in flowers and trees. . Lisa’s jaw dropped. “Are we staying here?”
He looked at her and grinned. “I told you, Lis. Only the best.”
He led her up to the solid oak door and unlocked it. He opened the door for her and held out his arm. She walked in, and he took great pleasure in how her face lit up at the magnificently decorated interior. The house was beautiful. It was roomy, and had many large windows looking out at their beautiful surroundings. He led her through an elegant living room to the back of the house. It was set up on a ridge, and the land fell away and to give them a view of the Pacific Ocean. The setting sun shimmered across the water.
“Oh, Jackson,” she said. “It’s so beautiful.”
“Yeah,” he said, gazing out across the water. “It is.”
“Did you grow up around here?”
He glanced at her, and then turned his eyes back out to the window. “I grew up in a lot of places.” He shrugged. “They were all in California, but more in the Los Angeles area.”
“Did you like it there?” she asked. She bit her lip. She was moving into unknown territory, and it was not lost on him.
“Not really, but it is none of your concern,” he said. She sighed slightly. He quickly added, “This part of California is nicer, I think.”
They looked out at the setting sun in silence for a while. Finally Lisa asked, “Do you like what you do?”
“Stop it,” he said, his voice suddenly harsher. “This is none of your business.”
Lisa’s voice trembled. “Jackson, if we’re ever going to…”
“Going to what, Lisa?” he said, walking closer to her, his voice growing. “Answer me,” he demanded, lifting her chin with his finger.
“Nothing,” she whispered, trying to keep the swell of fear out of her voice. She was a fool for thinking there would ever be anything between them. She stepped back from him. His eyes bit into her, and she could feel them burning into even after she looked away.
Finally he turned and motioned her to follow him as he led her down one of the hallways and opened the second door to the right. He swung it open and she stepped inside. Lisa stared in amazement at the large bedroom, complete with a queen-sized bed with a gorgeous oak bed. The sheets were a soft, creamy white. The bathroom was huge, with a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower.
“I’m staying here?” she asked, disbelievingly.
“Correct,” he replied. He surveyed the room and gave it a satisfied look. “We have this entire house to ourselves.”
“Wow,” she said.
Jackson turned to her.
“You shouldn’t be so surprised,” he said. “This house barely deserves you, you know.” His words were deliberate and made Lisa’s eyes flicker to his.
“What am I, Jackson?” she finally said. “Am I your prisoner or am I more than that? Do you even know, Jackson? You’re supposed to have this all figured out, aren’t you?” her voice gained strength despite her fear, and Jackson’s expressionless face watched her. “Is this all for nothing? Are you just trying to manipulate me, or-”
Suddenly, in one quick, swift motion, Jackson grabbed her face in his hands and pressed his lips against hers. Looking back, Lisa didn’t even remember him moving towards her; he was just suddenly pressing against her. His hand crept into her hair and to the back of her head. For a brief moment the world seemed to stop as he took her with his lips, but almost immediately she found herself kissing him back, her one hand around his neck and the other in his thick, dark hair.
When their lips parted Lisa was breathless, her heart racing. Jackson’s lips lingered just inches from hers, and he breathed heavily as their eyes slowly opened and met.
“Any more questions?” he murmured.
