I'm using CS3 right now, and I really miss being able to do that. Actually, I miss Image Ready, that's how I used to make gifs.

Like, screencaps? I use VLC Media Player. You just gotta program it to make screencaps for you, and you're set. Personally, I like doing it the hard way (pausing every single frame and 'print screen'ing) because I'm meticulous, but most of the gif-makers I know do it the easy way.
