It was prolly a scene that was cut. Remember the movie was super tight and they cut most of his parts out

I was thinking recently that 3 of Cillian's movies are/have been rated R (28 DL, Intermission, and BoP), and Disco Pigs is Unrated (I think it's the equivalent of NC-17, but with a slightly more acceptable "label"), so it's restricted to people 18 and over. So that's a fair number of movies that really aren't geared towards a younger audience. Since a lot of the movies Cillian has done have rather dark or disturbing themes or elements, I can see why parents might not want teens to watch them.
More on topic, even with the bad wig, I'd rather have seen Pieter with the hat off. The wig looks slightly better when it's not covered by the hat.

Yeah, the hat was pretty bad.
And most of Cillian's movies are R, or should be R [Excluding Batman Begins and Red Eye], so it is hard for people under 18 to get their hands on stuff like that, or to even be ALLOWED to watch them (I'm sneaky... I got em and watched em in secret before letting anyone know I had them). It's not plain out violence or sex, though, so I think it would be okay, as long as you're mature enough to grasp the concept.

I think that's the problem, is that different people have different concepts of 'maturity', particularly parents and kids. Sometimes it can be hard to know what you can or can't handle until you're confronted with it, at any age. When I was younger my dad didn't care what I read or watched, because he figured I had sense enough to stop reading/watching if something really bothered me. My mother, however, was much more concerned about what my brother and I saw or read, and didn't think we were mature enough to decide those things on our own. It was an interesting conflict.
Personally I think it's a good idea for people to at least read the basic description of the movie from the back of the DVD, or on a summary at a website or something, and that at least can give them an idea if there's something they really don't want to watch. For instance, anyone who wants to see 28DL should realize it's very, very bloody and violent. If you get sick at the sight of blood, that's a good one to avoid. And so on. Some people have issues with certain types of violence, but not so much other types. Sometimes you can figure that out from the movie's description. Titles alone can be very deceptive, or at least misleading. "Breakfast on Pluto" sounds like it could possibly be a science-fiction movie, for instance.

I have to agree with Stormy on the fact of checking description of the movie to know if you're ready for it, but really that can be said of any age. For example, I can't bear to watch Monster..the type of violence in that movie really disturbs me, but 28DL doesn't bother me. As for the pic, very cute. Hate the wig, but if I was in the pole scene instead of Griet I think the last thing on my mind would be the hair! I guess most of his movies end up with an R rating because of what he looks for in a role, something very challenging, very difficult. I would think those types of roles really would end up more in R rated movies.

A bit late but I remember when I listened to the commentary of GWAPE and the two women spoke about how Pieter was supposed to be gorgeous but not quite this gorgeous (refering to Cillian.) They then made jokes of having to "rough him up" a bit to make him a little less attractive. Have a listen to it - it is quite amusing. I think it is during the scene where Pieter brings Griet the meat delivery and asks her for a smile.

^ i love your avie!! and yeah, i wouldn't be able to watch like most of cillian's movies because they're r rated and my mom is really careful with credit cards and stuff so i wouldn't be able to buy it online or 'borrow' her credit card...so i finally found a way which is so simple but it took me forever to figure out...i called HMV and i ordered it (disco pigs and on the edge)...haha, pretty simple huh?...now, im just waiting for them to call me back... but yeah, you do have to check hte content and stuff in the movies. i wanted to make sure that like the whole movie wasn't based on nude scenes or something so i had that checked out and i asked a couple people who saw hte movies and im sure it's fine..there's not anything i can't handle....but, i don't know if i really want to see 28 days later because i hate horror movies but if i'm in the mood for something like that, then i'll find a way to get my hands on it.

Yeah, I usually like to know something about a movie, no matter who's in it. There are certain things I will not watch if I know ahead of time to expect them, or I'll avoid a movie entirely if it contains certain types of scenes. I have to warn my mother every time there's a snake, or anything vaguely snake-like in a movie, TV show or book, or she freaks. I'm not nearly as phobic about snakes, but still, I'll avoid 'em if I can (real-life or on-screen). Therefore, we will be avoiding the hell out of "Snakes on a Plane" when it comes out.
