Yeah, one dimensional, stereotype villains are boring...  As well as one dimensional, super perfect heros. You just can't connect with a chara that's perfect all over. There's just nothing one personally can identify with. |

It depends on the movie. Sometimes one dimensional cartoonish baddies are fun, as in Perrier's Bounty, but you need a fun script and a very good actor. Of course I prefer more nuanced baddies. If I think they're baddies at all....the world is composed by infinite shades of grey, I refuse to believe in absolute black and absolute white. Even if Crane seems absolute black, there is actually something very childish and enthousiastic about him that's simply too cute, like a - very dangerous - misbehaving child....
