**SPOILERS FOR THE DARK KNIGHT**I was just wondering if there's going to be a sequel to TDK?? Over at the Cilliansite comments area, people are saying that there might be a third movie. If that's true, then I'm really excited. Oh, and they're also saying that Scarecrow might play a bigger part in the movie? If that's true, then that's even better!  Anyway, I'm just wondering if there's going to be a sequel, will they keep going with the Joker storyline? With Heath gone, I think the role is irreplaceable in my opinion. If there's no Joker and with Harvey Dent/Two-Face dead, who will be the next supervillain? I've heard somewhere that Christopher Nolan wants to put villains on-screen that were never put on-screen before, and I also get a feeling that he chooses villains that don't have any weird or supernatural powers. That makes it pretty hard.... Hmm, who will it be? I'm not a Batman comics buff or anything, but I've always thought Mr. Freeze was cool. Poison Ivy, too, but they both have weird powers, so I guess that crosses them off the list. The Riddler? The Penguin? Catwoman? I don't think Harley Quinn's that big of a character to be a supervillain. Regardless of who they choose, I just hope that the costumes won't be too cheesy or gimmicky. I believe Kizuna's suggested this in another board, but I agree with her that Phillipp Seymour Hoffman would make a great Penguin. Again, I'm not a Batman comics buff or anything, and just going off on what I've looked up on Wikipedia on Batman Enemies, I think it would be interesting for the third movie to concentrate on Ra's al Ghul and the League of Assassins. They don't have super powers, I believe. Out of those characters, I find Talia al Ghul and Lady Shiva the most interesting. With Rachel Dawes gone, Talia could step in as another one of Bruce's complicated love interests. Eva Green would be good as Talia? Hmmm... anyway would love to hear any other thoughts!

Yeah, I''ve heard that they'll be turning this into a trilogy. It's pretty inevitable, I'm sure.
Anyway, I'm pretty certain that they may bring Scarecrow back in the third one. After seeing how underused he was in TDK, I really hope he'll get the full magnitude he deserves, and I hope Chris Nolan realizes that too.
I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of Talia, but since her dad is Ra's (Liam Neeson's character), it is pretty likely they'll bring her in. But I've always loved Catwoman - she was every bit as dark and tough as Batman, and I think if she's done right, she'd be a very compelling character. I think Eva Green would make a very good Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

I will be more than turned off if Catwoman is in any sequels. That pushes my tolerance for comic book films way too far. I'd be happy with another strong and kickass Batman movie. Hopefully one that I enjoy a bit more than TDK and with MORE SCARECROW! |

Yesh another film is goin' to take place and it's based on the Frank Miller comics. So if I'm thinkin' right (don't have comics beside me to tell u) I think the next bad guy will be Riddler and...I believe Catwoman?  I need to get my Miller comics out. ERRG! XD. Hopefully though they will go through all the stories because I wanna see Jervis Tetch so bad in a movie and Harley Quinn! |

I agree, Kizuna; Catwoman's a very complex and interesting character. I think she just gets a bad rap because of 2004's horrid movie, Catwoman, with Halle Berry, but that's not even closely based on the actual character!! Michelle Pfeiffer played a pretty hot Catwoman, but yes, Eva Green would give her a run for her money if she ever played that role! She's absolutely gorgeous. I've heard that Kate Beckinsale expressed interest in playing Catwoman, too, but who knows. Yes, Kaatopp, here's to hoping for MORE SCARECROW in the third movie! PoisonAndFear, where did you hear that the Riddler and Catwoman will be next villains? Or is that just your own speculation? Either way, that would be pretty cool. Who do you see playing the Riddler? I think on another thread, I'd thought that Adrien Brody would be good as the Riddler. Jervis Tetch (aka Mad Hatter) sounds like another great psychopath to be put on-screen. I like Harley Quinn, too, but was she only developed for the Batman cartoon? (I'm not that knowledgeable about Batman comics, I'm sorry to say.  ). Anyway, great suggestions, everybody! |

Mmhmm we need more Scarecrow! I also think that it would be really neat if they brought Harley Quinn into the third one...because if the Joker is in jail, she could be trying to seek revenge or something for him....which would be neat if she would take on his role of the "chaos-bringer" or something. I'm not really sure because I never read the comics (and I probably should), but it could be a really cool idea. Still...Scarecrow needs to be the full-on villain of number three.
I also heard that Nolan's not returning for the third one...which would be really sad if it were true. I really like him as a director...and the fact that he doesn't like to use CGI, so they do all the stunts and everything for real.
Here's hoping for a really great third installment with plenty of Scarecrow in it! Cheers! ;D

I'd thought that Adrien Brody would be good as the Riddler. I dunno how scary or badass The Riddler will be compared to the Joker but if he is an upcoming villain I think Brody would be AWESOME, good goooood suggestion. He's a pretty incredible actor. |

God Heath is absolutely amazing as the Joker, it's so depressing that he created such a perfect character and he'll never get to play him again......He was just class.  At least he got to give that one last perfect performance that everyone will be raving about and treasure forever. Adrien is a really good suggestion. But still, i'd hate to be the actor havcing to follow up that performance of Heath's. And you wouldn't want anyone to better him cos you'd want to leave him as that stand out role that blew everyone away in his memory.......if that makes sense!  I know what i want to say but i'm not sure i'm getting it across properly..... Anyway i hope that Cillian gets a full role as the Scarecrow in the next one. He didn't get half enought ime in the first one and that scene in TDK was forgettable. It barely showed him but i did like his line about Batman needed help. |

I think two-face will be the next villian.... although he "died" i doubt he actually did they cannot bring a villian in the the movie and not pursue him!!! in the comics Joker kills Scarecrow so maybe they will turn it into two-face killing Scarecrow, bringing out Cillian back b/c they cannot make Joker without Heath now! |

Aaron Eckhart did a fabulous portrayal of Harvey Dent/Two-Face. It'll be awesome if he returns for the sequel. "I believe in Harvey Dent." And I'm all for MORE Scarecrow!!  I agree, they shouldn't reprise the Joker role with another actor. Heath was amazing. It's better to leave it alone. But I'm really excited to see a NEW villain though!!! The Riddler, Catwoman, whoever. A kick ass female villain would be pretty cool though... |

As usual I'm the minority in my opinions when it comes to Batman, lol. I know Heath was great as the Joker and if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I think we need more Joker movies, I really do. I would love the next movie to be Joker and Scarecrow, they just have to find someone to do Joker well. Everyone, though, will freak out completely if they bring Joker back and he isn't perfect, but I am willing to risk that (not that I have any say hahah), Joker is too great a villain to just let go just because Ledger died.
As for Dent, NOO WAY! I'm the only one in the universe (I think lol) who did not care for the actor, the character or the villain. I hope he is dead, but actually, I suppose they could make a pretty good movie with him again, hopefully better than TDK though. I dunno, Dent/Two Face just didn't do anything for me but there is a possibility that if he isn't dead, he could still be a pretty interesting asset to a new movie. I would need the movie to be really dark though and I wouldn't want to hear Two Face whine and complain about his hard lot in life, or whatever, he should just be crazy and kill people like a mad man or something, if they are going to bring him back .... but I would really prefer Joker and Scarecrow.
