There are many possibilities for why this happened, and it's all speculation. That said, to add another theory to the bunch: perhaps he didn't originally intend to stay out late or to get so drunk, but then he ended up drinking too much and his judgment failed him. Maybe he was having a good time and forgot that you can't go out and get drunk with Sienna Miller like you can with your other friends and go unnoticed.

I agree. I thought Cillian would be the last person to put himself in such a position, wife or no wife. Not that I think he's some saint, I don't - I just thought he was smarter and would have higher standards - Sienna Miller whether she's a pal, or more, is an idiot.

If God forbid, Yvonne and Cillian are not together anymore, I sure wish he'd give Rachel McAdams a call. Ryan Gosling and her have broken up again - and they'd both be free. LOL Yeah, I'm sure that would be a match made in heaven... in the minds of some of us fans. Haha I agree! And isn't Rachel in London shooting that Sherlock Holmes movie? She's in the area! And Rachel is definitely the fan-approved choice; Sienna not so much. I don't see it happening though, unfortunately. During the few interviews they did for Red Eye, I got the sense that there was a certain coolness between them on set (understandable, since there was such animosity between the characters they played, and some actors use this to help them act more convincingly.) I mean, during interviews they did their duty which was praise one another but it was all in a very professional and detached manner. Haha, Gogo. Yeah, I was also thinking that it would've been cool if Rachel and Cillian hung out (as friends and colleagues, of course, and with none of the drunkenness at 3 AM ) while she was in London filming Sherlock Holmes. She's not in London anymore though; she's currently in Brooklyn, NY with the rest of the cast filming. They seemed like they got along well when they filmed Red Eye. I didn't think they seemed cold/cool with each other at all. There was this one interview where Rachel mentioned they were doing crosswords together, and Cillian was cracking jokes with her. I do agree with you that I don't see it happening in any near future. Um, because yeah, I'm hoping (crossing fingers) that things are still fine and dandy with him and Yvonne. I have to agree with you that James McAvoy does seem more at ease with celebrity life and is more out and about, but I think he does let people know that he'd rather keep his private life separate. There's even a recent article that says so; go here. I think it's easier for James to bring his wife around because she's also an actress, so she's more comfortable with these events. But yeah, I wouldn't mind if Cillian does the same. It wouldn't hurt. I'm glad you're trying to keep on the positive side, Melty_Girl. There's also been speculations that maybe the two were just out to discuss "movie stuff" regarding Hippie. If that's the case, I just wished they could've done it during daylight hours. And weren't they heading to another club when they were in the taxi? Yeah, and it's already 3 AM or something. Shouldn't he be heading home? Anyway, I hate to be on the negative side (I always tend to see things for the worse), but when I first saw those pictures, the thought of "Wow, Cillian and Sienna hanging out as good buddies!" wasn't exactly the first thing to cross my mind.

rukia888 -- yeah thats what i meant with James. He's doing the celebrity, press circuit but yet he also is able to keep his private life relatively private. Cillian can do the same, he can be a little more out there and it wouldn't automatically lead to paps showing up on his front door. Well, until now anyway. (Possibly) boinking Sienna Miller has been an express ticket to that already. Good luck with that Cillian!
And why are they filming Sherlock Holmes in Brooklyn? It's amazing how many places can stand in for Victorian England haha. I believe they shot The Prestige in downtown LA. I'm not even kidding.

This was really interesting to see, especially with Sienna Miller in the picture. Everyone's pretty much already expressed how I feel about this all, but it's still a little shocking.

Sorry for my late response to this, but anyway...
I'm also rather shocked by these pictures like the rest of you. I mean, they're definitely not Tara Reid level of looking wasted, but even still, it is genuinely jarring to see Cillian look a little out of it in a public place. Not to mention Sienna has a reputation for being a tabloid darling, and her last relationship was with a married man.
But really, unless I see hard evidence that say, Cillian's marraige in on the rocks or something along those lines, then I really have no reason to believe that he's romantically involved with Sienna. Also, given the media backlash that started up when she was dating Balthazar Getty, I am willing to believe that Sienna might've learned a little lesson.

Kizuna, why are you shocked? Cilly's just a man llike the rest of them. I, however, am not sure if he's drunk or stoned. I remember him remarking that he is always sober and clean while working. Does that mean when he's not working he's drunk and lazy about personal hygiene or drunk and on drugs? If you want hard evidence look at his crotch. I bet Sienna is.

Fortunately, I'm a bit "over" this now. I wonder about it sometimes, but I don't know if we'll ever know the truth behind these pictures. There hasn't been any more news surfacing about it (or ANY news about Cillian for that matter, geez). Anyway, I searched for news about Sienna Miller in hopes of finding anything new about Cillian, and I ran across these new pictures of Sienna and Balthazar Getty in LA on February 1st. Go here. I guess they're still together? So...maybe there wasn't anything going on with Cillian and Sienna after all?

WOWZA!! Well I go away for a bit and Cillian is hanging with SM. Sheesh, I just read through most of this thread and my wheels are spinning. I first though, naw not Cillian. He is not an attention hungry celeb. Then I was thinking so many of you had such great points. One thing us lot are is a set of detectives.lol. I really don't want to believe he would cheat on his wife or seek attention from the media. I hope he relly just has poor taste in friends. We all know SM loves a man with a ring. Then again I don't know her. Doesn't mean I like her. I guess I choose to belive Cilly is just hangin out and Yvonne knows all about it. On the other hand I don't care how secure one is in their relationship. I wouldn't let my man near her. ohhhhh geeeez So much goin through this little brain of mine.hmmmmm.... Wll I know he always tends to hang out with the cast. I remembe being so jealous of Lucy Lui. But never did I think they had anything going on. wow, just gonna have to believe in him. WOW

hedwigsgal- This is not a rumour but fact. Sile is a very immature 22 year old. She and her college " B---tches" as she calls them like to party, drink, and worst of all take pictures and discuss their "activities". It may seem lke a joke but what you put on the net stays on the net and if I'm not mistaken becomes property of the net. I am not going to reveal the site but it makes me wonder about the importance of family in a certain actor's life. In fact I'm beginning to think that Mr. Murphy is quite a different person than we think he is. His latest actions is in my opinion a desperate attempt to salvage his career. Although Cillian is a very gifted actor, his recent movies have been one disaster after another. No matter how great an actor you are there is a limit to how many bad movies you make and if Cillian doesn't have a successful film soon, he may find it very difficult in these economic times to get a good script if any.

Ouch.
Harsh words indeed. Though I tend to agree with his recent films- they certainly have not helped his career. I think his downward slide began with Watching the Detectives, but I have hopes for a couple of his upcoming projects like Perrier's Bounty and White Male heart, if it ever gets made. Honestly though, what he needs is a big Hollywood film to remind people he exists, primarily, and to expand his audience to what an actor of his caliber should have.
I'm leaving the stuff about his family alone- you can't judge someone by what their family/siblings do. That's completely unfair. And I guess I'm one of the few who honestly does not care what kind of person Cillian is. I just love his work and that's all I need to worry about in the first place.

To Seabreeze: I doubt we can judge what Cillian is like in his private life just because of what his younger sister likes to do for fun. As for the career thing, I do agree that his more recent films haven't really been up to snuff, but the real problem is that hardly anything's been widely released and promoted in the US; so far he's been doing well across the pond. I do hope Perrier's Bounty, Peac*ck and Hippie Hippie Shake will appeal to a broader audience here in America.
