Any fans of the AWESOME HBO show True BloodI watched the entire first season in the last week online, it is so great. The second season airs June 14th. Our main characters, Sookie Stackhouse and the resident Vampire, Bill Compton The show is set in the present day south in a world where Vampires no longer have to hide due to the recent development of synthetic blood, True Blood, which they may drink instead of feeding off humans. Naturally the world is not completely eased by this new synthetic blood and conflicts ensue. I enjoy the show so much because while it is about Vampires it is not filled with excessive fantasy or make-believe. Everyone is of course beautiful in the show too. It is actually a quite funny show, scary at times and sexy too. So anyone else see this wonderful show?? Please share your opinions! PM me if you would like access to the show on line.

I fell in love with this series almost instantly! I especially love Stephen and Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman) in this show.

Rukia, so glad you love the show! It is awesome, it is sexy, scary, funny, smart, it is everything! Just in case you are curious, Bill Compton the vampire, is really British, if you think he is hot in the show (I am just assuming you do because he is totally hot, lol), you will think he is even hotter with his real accent!
Sookie's brother Jason is Australian in real life too, also super sexy.
This show is just full of eye candy!
There are books too!! I believe the series is called The Southern Vampire Mysteries, by Charlaine Harris. The first book is called Dead Until Dark. I really want to read them I heard they are even better than the tv show (not sure how that is possible lol) ... I have the first book on hold at the library, if only it would actually come in!!
Kizuna, did you see the series 2 premiere last night? It was FANTASTIC! LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

I didn't know that Stephen Moyer was British when I first watched it, but of course, I was more than pleasantly surprised to discover it. It makes him even more hotter, if that's possible. Haha. Ditto goes with Ryan Kwanten. Aussie, you don't say? Awesome is more like it. Haha. You're right, this show's cast is pretty much eye candy, but it's eye candy with talent which makes it even better. Dammit, Cillian should guest star in this show. He would totally fit in! ;D I'm almost halfway through season 1. Can't wait until I catch up to season 2!!!

Rukia I am so pleased with your dedication to the show! I did the same thing when I started watching it, I just watched it nonstop! I couldn't help myself!! Once you catch up we will definitely have to discuss certain characters and hypothesize about certain things, haha! OH, and did you know that Sookie and Bill are actually together in real life too!!?? I think that makes their love in the show even sexier since they are both in love in reality! Oh I love pretty people paired together!! Cillian would be PERFECT as a vampire I think, or an unsuspecting victim turned vamp! Even just a funny redneck Bon Temps resident in the local bar! Cillian could definitely do both the funny and scary characters in this show!

I don't want to annoy anyone or start an argument but i really didn't like the show. I'd heard so much about it so i decided to watch it on FX when it started and i only watched the first episode and didn't bother with anymore. I thought it was really cheesy and silly and Anna kinda annoyed me for some reason. The accents annoyed me too. The only good thing about it was Bill being good looking. I don't like the whole "synthetic blood" thing either..... I was disappointed because i was hoping i'd love it and become addicted like everyone else seems to have but nope....not for me.

No offense at all, Razz. It's a good show, and I got into it really quick, but it kinda died off towards the end of Season 1 for me. I just stopped there for no reason at all. It wasn't like I didn't like the show anymore; I don't know, sometimes my latest obsession burns out really fast for no reason. *shrugs* I can't explain it.

I've now started watching this, as well as reading the books. Loving both the show and the first book so far - and finding them pretty addictive!
Also agreeing that Stephen Moyer is lovely! Have to admit that I do prefer Cillian, but still think he's also pretty gorgeous - and I think makes a very sexy vampire in that show ;D

I think I'm pretty hooked on this show now. I don't get HBO but I have managed to see the first 3 episodes and I loved them! I feel kinda dumb because I didn't think to look online to watch the rest of the first and second seasons. I like this show but I tried to read the first book and couldn't really get into it. Maybe it was because the book only focuses on Sookie and doesn't give the perspective of anyone else, I don't know.

To be fair, I don't believe you need to read the books to appreciate the show. But as by the time I had my first peak at the first series I'd already missed a bunch of episodes, wanted to find out more on what I'd missed, and my mum had the first book lying around the house - I thought I might as well borrow it to get some story background knowledge to see if it was the kind of thing I was likely to get into. I didn't realise at the time it was possible to catch the first few episodes online. Or most likely I'd have just done that. As things were, I chose to read the first book. Liked what I was reading so much, I made up my mind I had to watch more of the show and read more of the books! I think it helped I'm a lover of reading anyway - when I remember to make time for myself to do it. But I'm sure that even if I hadn't had the chance to borrow that first book, that I'd have still loved the show every bit as much!
