Did anyone catch the television broadcast premiere of "Red Eye" on Saturday August 1 (ABC-HD)? If so, did they add the rumored extra four minutes in at the end?
(In the DVD commentary from 2006, Wes Craven said they had extra footage waiting in the wings to get the film up to a broadcast-friendly ninety-minute running time. Part of the footage was to include Rippner being carted out of the Reisert house at the end. I don't watch much TV, so I don't pay attention to the schedules, and-- PFFT!-- it flew right past me yesterday. Anyone see it...?)

My co-worker has a thirteen-year-old son with a crush on Rachel McAdams: he saw "Red Eye" on ABC, and, what's worse, the little monster noticed IMMEDIATELY that there were changes. From what I can gather:
** More throwing of stuff (Lisa-at-Jackson) in the final fight sequence. I'm picturing vases and monkey wrenches, but I'm probably wrong.
** Possibly another shot of Jackson perfecting his behind-the-door lurking skills.
** More Lisa/Dad stuff at the end.
** [Do we really need to say SPOILER!!! at this late stage of the game? We've all seen "Red Eye"... right? Those of you who haven't: WATCH IT. NOW.] The EMTs do carry Rippner out of the house. As my co-worker said-- actually, this is how I found out her son had watched it: out of nowhere Monday night, she blurted: "I didn't know Jackson lived at the end--!"
I'm having a friend queue it up on her TiVo request list. Maybe ABC'll re-run it in the next million years or so....
'Til then: My co-worker's kid--! Lucky little [bleep]!!! ARRGH.

I sure did betablue, I own the DVD of course but since ABC played it, I had to watch it for another time and loving it more than ever. On the ABC Broadcast I noticed at the end when Jackson gets shot, he is being carried out by the paramedics, I do not reacall it either when I initally watched Red Eye... I wa happy because he wasn't killed off... fingers crossed for a sequel. ;D

I'd love it if they did a sequel too - and Cillian agreed to appear in it as Rippner again. Seems that the chances of that are pretty low though. :-(
