I have seen sooo many websites/youtube videos naming him as part of a dream cast for a vampire movie. He as been mentioned several times by people wanting him to be in one of the Twilight movies. I don't know about that....that would take his popularity to a place he doesn't want it to go. lol Plus I would like to see him in a more hardcore vampire movie then that. ;D

I don't know about that....that would take his popularity to a place he doesn't want it to go. lol Plus I would like to see him in a more hardcore vampire movie then that. ;D Same here. I've never seen Twilight myself, but most definitely wouldn't like the idea of Cillian picking a vampire role in a some cheesy movie or television series that didn't involve a good standard of story telling and characterisation. For one, it would be a let down to the viewers. And somehow I don't think that's the type of path Cillian would want to take either. Some actors will pretty much take just anything - just so that they can keep on working - but going by what I know of the guy when it comes to approaching roles - I get the impression he's strongly against that type of attitude. In any case though, I certainly hope that one day he does consider a vampire role. Maybe after he's played a selection of a few more different types of part he'll do so. After all, it would still be different to the parts he's played previously - so he wouldn't exactly be repeating himself. Plus not all vampire characters have to necessarily be 100% bad either. I think the role that Brad Pitt portrayed in Interview With a Vampire is a really good example of that. Though he's a vampire, and naturally ends up doing the typical types of bad things that go with being one - the character is very far from evil. Yet, because of his constant struggle between his good human side and his strong vampire urges, it adds real depth to his personality and makes for interesting storytelling! Could well be Cillian might be attracted to a role like that, if the opportunity ever comes his way!

^^^Anne Rice has made plenty of them. They just need some great director to bring them to life on the big screen like Neil Jordan did with Interview NOT like Queen of the Damned. That was so bad...... He could be in one of them....definitely. And glad you agree Emma.

I haven't read any Anne Rice yet but my sister says they are really great! So it's settled. Someone just need to convince someone at a movie studio to make a Anne Rice book into a film and cast our Cillian as lead vampire. That shouldn't be so hard. lol

lol at Twilight comment! I saw the movie and liked it but my step daughter is waaaay obsessed and it has really turned me off of the whole thing. At least she thinks Cillian is hot so I think she's a keeper. lol I think this anti-Twilight flair I saw on Facebook sums it up it said something like ,"Twilight a vampire movie for people who don't like vampires." But anyway, yes, vampire movies should be dark and sexy and THAT is the kind of vampire movie I want Cillian to be in.

LMAO!! ;D I'm no fan of Twilight either. And though I think Cillian would make a great vampire, I wouldn't mind if it never happens, because I think vamps are a little too 'popular' right now since Twilight hit. Too mainstream, too high-school. I also can't help but feel annoyance for a fandom so huge it has sucked fans right out of this forum. But that's just me. I never like anything that gets too huge. Takes all the fun out of a fandom.

I do seem to remember reading somewhere that Cillian said he would like to do a Western one day - though can't remember where I saw that now. I think it'd be really cool if he did! :-)

Oh yeah I'd love to see him play a cowboy! I thought it was so cute that he mentioned he wanted to play one sometime!

On topic:
I will admit that Cillian definitely does play a good villain and it takes a special talent to pull these characters off. I do hope he doesn't completely rule out playing another in the future. But I personally don't want him to do another one too soon. I'll admit, it does make me aggravated to see that he's largely remembered only for the creepy roles. I definitely don't want to see him do another comic book supervillain role. I don't care what any of those more idiotic members of SuperHeroHype say, Cillian is the worst possible choice for Carnage.
Off Topic:
I personally would love to see Cillian play a superhero though, especially one from the Marvel Universe. Yeah, I know, he already played Scarecrow, but Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool (a Marvel villain/anti-hero) and is going to play Green Lantern (a DC superhero). And the Marvel characters are all very flawed, intense characters for the most part, so Cillian would fit well with one of them. Maybe Machine Man or Daredevil in the possible reboot.
As for a vampire role, I could see him as one of the characters in the Anita Blake series. Definitely not one of those more teen angst kinds of vampires. I do enjoy Twilight, but Cillian is, quite frankly, way too good for that series.

On topic: I'll admit, it does make me aggravated to see that he's largely remembered only for the creepy roles. I'm totally sure that nobody who's posted in here means to imply that creepy roles are the only type of part he's worth being remembered for, and hope that nothing I've said gave that impression! My personal opinion is that he is highly capable of giving an outstanding memorable performance in whichever type of part he happens to choose to play. Recently seeing his performances in the movies Edge of Love and Sunshine strongly convinced me of that - and I do very much plan on collecting more of his films. As I'm very interested in becoming familiar with more of his work and seeing more of what different types of roles he's played. I actually think it's a very good thing that he prefers to turn his hand to a wide variety of different parts - and definitely wouldn't want to see him stick to playing only villains to the exclusion of all else. I agree it would be a total waste of his abilities! It's just that on the other hand, I think it would be a shame for him to give up playing villian parts altogether - as I still think we've not necessarily seen the best of him to come. And also I think it would be very interesting to see him play a type of villian character which differs to the previous types he's played before - as that way he wouldn't really be repeating himself, but at the same time be playing a type of role in which he can demonstrate his acting strengths to a high extent - and be showing his audience aspects of them they've not seen before. Anyway back to the western thing, yes totally agreeing it'd be great to see him play a cow boy type role. I'm certainly very keen on the idea myself! ;D

If Wolverine merits a series of solo movies, then Cillian should have the Nightcrawler franchise. In fact, with all due respect to Alan Cumming, Cillian should have played Nightcrawler in the first place.
Ah, fantasies....

I definitely didn't think Alan was the right choice for Nightcrawler, but I have a hard time seeing Cillian as Nightcrawler too. The only X-Men characters I can really plausibly see him play are maybe Quicksilver or Cyclops, but I'm already fairly set on Robert Pattinson Quicksilver, and unless they're going to do a recasting, James Marsden's already playing Cyclops. Other Marvel characters I could possibly see Cillian as could include Hawkeye, Hank Pym (hopefully not the wife-beater Ultimates Universe version), or Captain Britain. There are others, I'm sure, but I'm not totally certain right now.

Possibly I'm in the minority here. But another character that occurs to me, that Cillian (imo) would be awesome at playing would be Bill in True Blood. I've just started reading the books and watching the TV series, and going by the impression I have about the character so far - I think it'd be a really cool one for Cillian to portray. Not that I'm complaining in the least about Stephen Moyers performance. As so far think he's very good in the part (not to mention pretty nice also! ;D). But I think Cillian would be every bit as good, if not better!
