Cillian Murphy might have Breakfast on Pluto but he had his Sunday roast in Multyfarnham earlier today.

If you were one of a few dozen really lucky customers who decided to book a table in Weirs, Multy on Sunday, you were rubbing shoulders with Hollywood A-Listers Johnny Depp and Cillian Murphy.

“They were working in London and were visiting in the area with JP Donleavy. JP’s son Philip called and booked a table for nine people at 11am. But we didn’t know who the table was for. It certainly created quite a buzz, for the staff and for the customers who were here.

"Of course we couldn’t ring anyone because we have to give people their privacy,” explained Una Weir, who runs the award winning restaurant with her husband Pat.

Depp and Murphy are currently working together on the film Transcendence, an artificial-intelligence, sci-fi story.

Privacy wasn’t an issue as everyone else was really polite.

Sabrina Dermody, from Coole was one of the lucky customers to have been in Weirs.

“I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe I was sitting at a table right across the way from Johnny Depp and Cillian Murphy. But no one went near them. No one disturbed them in any way. Everyone was really polite and respectful of their privacy. It was only when they got up to leave that people went over an asked to get a pic with them,” said Sabrina.

Depp has been rumoured to be interested in making a film of JP Donleavy’s controversial book “The Ginger Man” written in 1955.

The Ginger Man was banned in America and Ireland for what was considered its obscene content but is now considered a modern classic "Lusty, violent, wildly funny ... The Ginger Man is the picaresque novel to stop them all, " wrote Dorothy Parker for Esquire.

It is also rumoured that Depp would like to play Sebastian Dangerfield, the young American student studying at Trinity and behaving in this most deplorable and rakish fashion.

But I love this Q&A with the photographer about the process of planning the shoot.

Highlight:

I soon realized that he was the beautiful villain and that even though he played evil there was something about him that we all feel empathy with, his looks as well as his amazing deep blue eyes.
