Okay, so I started this post by just giving a list of names, but I realized these people are so awesome I had to put links to my favorite songs of them. The choice was hard, but I've finally made it. If you've never heard of these songs, please give them a try, I promise you won't waste your time. And if you know them and like them, well, just let yourself go with the music like you've done so many times before ;D I usually don't link the music I listen to, because I have strange tastes. People usually don't like it, and they judge me about that. So if you don't like the kind of music I linked, don't click, I won't be angry at you for that xD Buuut, if you are feeling curious, give them a try. And the last one, it's pure joy. And I'm pretty sure no one here has ever heard of it. ;D I loooove old rockabilly and rock'n'roll, like Elvis PresleyLittle Richard (Tutti frutti, hell yeah! Awap bap badoowah!)Bill Haley (Shake, Rattle and Roll)Chuck BerryRay Charles (Twist it, from the Blues Brothers, people! The Blues Brothers! This has to be the BESTEST movie in whole history!)... and, more recently, the Baseballs. Let's face it, these guys are awesome! I love their take on " Umbrella"! I also like jazz stuff, Bill Evans is an incredible pianist (Waltz For Debby, just shut your eyes, it's magic)Duke Ellington is awesome too! Benny Goodman has always been a role model for me. I started learning the clarinet when I was 5 because I wanted to look as cool as he did! (Sing, sing, sing)and Nina Simone's voice is gorgeous. (My Baby Just Cares For Me, awesome stop-motion clip!)Gene Kelly[/url], that man, a genius. (Singing in the Rain, I know it's famous but I could listen to it all day long! Look at that smile!)And Frank Sinatra! Aretha Franklin is a goddess to me. (Think, listen to that voice! Such power! Barely possible!)so is Tina Turner (Proud Mary, "nice and easy, then nice and rough"...)As for nowadays music (everytime I play a record in my room of all of the above, my father says this music was already called "old stuff" when he was young), I have a special thing for 30 Seconds to Mars as I was explaining in the "Jared Leto" thread. My two favorite songs are Buddha for Mary and Was it a Dream. Lady Gaga. I usually dispise this king of music, but I don't know... I think she has something special. Her acoustic version of Speechless sends shivers down my spine. She is very, very talented. Gifted, I would say. And the character she has created is fascinating. I hope some day she'll make a tour in France and come by Marseille, where I live. And thousands more, Muse, the Police, Maroon 5, Queen, Daft Punk, the Beatles, Lunasa, the Dubliners, the Chieftains, Radiohead, U2, the Rolling Stones, Rufus Wainwright, Moby, David Bowie, the Dropkick Murphys, the Clash, AC/DC, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Sam Cooke, Chubby Checker, Michael Jackson... And even if they're not bands, "classic" music too, such as Chopin, Beethoven, Lulli, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Schubert, Berlioz, Wagner, Brahms, Ravel, Prokofiev, Bernstein, Bizet, Debussy, Fauré, Gershwin, Stravinski, Offenbach, Satie, Strauss... Oh, and there is this guy, Ben L'oncle Soul (Ben the Soul Uncle). He is french, and his music sounds like affro-american soul/blues. Give it a try, he sings in french but it sounds english! Here's his best song, Soulman, check it out, the clip is made of pure win! Tell me now, how good do you feel? ;D EDIT: Omg that post is as long as longcat! I didn't realize! And it took so long to write it, omg
