I just found a very brief synopsis about this project on the website of the production company: Wayfaring strangers
Written and to be directed by Stephen Bradley. A French/Irish coproduction. Financing stage – English speaking.
Occupied France in 1942. A unit of British paratroopers are held by their German captors in a remote farmhouse. The farmer’s family are sheltering a young Jewish couple in the attic and their fate seems dangerously inevitable. But heroism is never so predictable…www.chic-films.com/index_en.htm

Didn't Stephen Bradley write the script to The Tale of Sweety Barry (or whatever it was called)? And wasn't he thanked in the credits of On The Edge, too?

I'm obviously way behind the times on this! Only found out about this film this morning on Facebook, was going to make a thread only to find this one had already been posted. I can't believe I missed it! Not generally into war movies, but definitely plan to make an exception in this instance. It's great to know Cillian has something new on the horizon! Much looking forward to this already!

Hey, maybe we'll be able to hear Cillian speak a few words in french? I read somewhere that his mother was a french teacher (I think...) and that he was fluent in this language. Being french myself, I've always loved to hear foreign accents when people speak french. I don't know, I think it's beautiful. And Cillian speaking french, OMG! The only french word I heard him say was "gamine" in Breakfast on Pluto. I recorded it and used it as a ringtone for months. Well, wait and see... "l'espoir fait vivre" as we say in France...

Somehow, I totally missed reading the part that it's going to be a French/Irish production. I agree, Jinx! I hope we'll be able to hear him speak French! ;D Whenever I watch a French movie, I always wonder about Cillian being in a French movie... LOL. I hope we hear more from this project soon.

You're right Jinx! I thought I remembered reading the same as you, just checked that under his biography info on the internet movie database and indeed it confirms he is fluent in French and that his mother teaches the language. Considering what the story setting is within the movie, could well be Cillian will speak some French. I hope he does too, as I've never heard him speak it before and it would be a chance to see him do something different. I also really like the accent!

(a little bit off-topic, but hey... I just got out from 4 hours of philosophy final test... Please don't blame me ) Jinx- i notice Johnny in your signature. Have you seen the interview on the Arizona Dream DVD that he does completely in French? I like it a lot! ;D Ooooh yes, I have, and more than once! He even said a few words in french to me when he was in Paris on the Champs Elysées for the premiere of Sweeney Todd! I just loooove foreign accents. And even if he says he doesn't speak french fluently, everyone can understand him, and how could you not fall in love when he says "Bonjour, comment allez-vous?" ... ;D

Does anybody know when this movie will be released?? For I didn't find any release date as I was searching for informations about it. Besides this I hope it will be shown all over Europe so I can watch it in a German version too. I 'm really looking forward to this movie. And at least it will be a film that my boyfriend would be interested in too, so I can take him with me. (and show him what a great actor Cillian is ;D)

www.independent.ie/lifestyle/misfit-roberts-star-is-rising-2480235.htmlAccording to this article dated 1st Jan 2011, Robert Sheehan 'begins shooting alongside Cillian Murphy and Michael Gambon in World War 2 thriller Wayfaring Strangers next year, as well as completing a second season of Love/Hate in May.' I hold out hope that this is a typo since it could have been written during December 2010. 2012 is a long way off and probably means we'd only get to see it in 2013.
