I know I always post this site, but it seems to be the only site I can find with up to date info on this movie. Its short, but Robert Beames has a little bit to say about visiting the set allthingsfoe.blogspot.com/

Here's the link back to Beames's blog. It's still brief (and the actual on-set interviews won't be available until sometime closer to the film's release-- darn!), but he does mention the surreality of seeing Cillian having lunch with fake blood on his mouth (so our poor wee fella takes Yet Another Beating for the Sake of His Art...!) and a few more details. Check it out: beamesonfilm.blogspot.com/

It does sound 28 Days Later-ish but it also sounds a bit different like there is some psychological play going on too, sounds very interesting! Can't wait!

Are they really done filming this? This does sound like a bit of an independent production, but I still have questions. And since I'm.Mortal is scheduled to start shooting by the end of this month, I wonder what Cillian's schedule is right now...

Previously titled i'm.mortal is supposed to start shooting on Oct 25 according to IMDB so maybe we'll get more news on that around then There's more info on allthingsfoe, slightly spoilery(?) about a local extra that was hired for a scene: allthingsfoe.blogspot.com/2010/10/retreat-2011-local-woman-lands-part-in.html . There's a readable newspaper article scan there. The person maintaining this blog is really good at getting information & seems like a nice guy too. Lucky for Jamie Bell fans, and in this case us as well ;D

I hate to fire off criticism without some idea of a fix-- is it just me, or is the Photoshopping in that poster kinda all over the place?-- but I might have gone without Thandie, Cillian, and Jamie and just shown, still in sepia or black-and-white, a shot of a figure in fatigues washed up, facedown, on a desolate beach strewn with debris, with maybe the cottage way up on a hill in the background. A broken post-storm sky, wind-whipped dune grass, stuff like that. Kind of a Normandy Beach vibe....
Just thinking. This looks like DVD cover art (along the lines of the box art for Peaco[c]k), not a theatrical one-sheet.

Thanks for all the updates on this project everyone! ;D I was a bit iffy about this project in the beginning (somehow, I wasn't sure it was actually going to be made), but I'm glad that they've finished it already! Thanks for linking us to the poster and the new stills! What a treat! I love that still with Cillian! It looks exciting already from the stills. I can't wait to see him work with Thandie. She's great! I guess Cillian's character's not going to be wearing glasses then? Darn.

I hope too, The Retreat will be shown worldwide!!! I d love to see it in a cinema, not just on my tiny little TV at home... But at least there will be a new CM Film. Thats the most important thing. And what an interesting plot! I also like Jamie Bell. Would be fun to see them as contrahents in a thriller movie.

All Things Foe has done it again! allthingsfoe.blogspot.com/2011/02/retreat-2011-world-premiere-berlin-film.htmlI'm in shock I had no idea it was so far along @_@. I wonder if this really is the film or just a preview! The last time I checked I thought they'd just recorded the score for the movie, I think at the end of January. EDIT: Okay, according to this, it is listed with one other movie as having a screening, so I'm inclined to believe it's not a preview. www.scfilmsinternational.com/ And, it seems that this isn't a screening for the public or the festival itself, just for the European Film Market for distributors and such.
