Ebert did comment about Cillian, but very briefly. I don't recall the exact words, but something along the lines of how Cillian isn't really an unknown, or up-and-coming actor, because he's been around for a while. It wasn't in any way negative, I think they were just more impressed by the career moves Rachel has made. I think they were trying to make a point that for anyone who's not that aware of her, she's someone they want to look out for in the future, because they think she's really talented. I was disappointed they didn't talk more about Cillian, but they only had about 2 1/2 minutes, and they were also talking about Wes Craven, as well as the movie itself. I got the impression they were impressed with Cillian, but maybe they didn't feel the need to gush about him as much as Rachel. Plus, two male reviewers have a chance to ramble on about a beautiful young actress or a handsome young actor. Seriously, who are they going to pick? You can listen to their Red Eye review at Ebert's website. I don't have the link, but a Google search of Roger Ebert Reviews should get you there.

oh thanks....it's true that he's been around for a while but he's becoming, in a way, 'up and coming' because more people are taking notice of him with his recent movies and all and he's getting more publicity. i don't really get all the hype about rachel....maybe it's cos i'm a girl?

Heh, I suspect a lot of the (male) Rachel McAdams fans would wonder why we make such a fuss about Cillian! I think they both did a great job in the movie. If they'd cast someone else as Lisa (like, let's say, Katie Holmes) we may have had a very different, and negative, reaction to Lisa from the start.
