There are 3 that I don't like: Cold Mountain - don't like the story, I don't have a problem with his performance. Peac*ck - tough movie to watch, felt like a needed a shower afterwards but I thought his performance was fantastic. Perrier's Bounty - don't like the story, I almost think he was miscast/badly directed/or script didn't give him enough to do

Slightly off topic but i think this topic is really interesting. It's amazing how differing people's opinions are. For example, merlange11 above, i can't fault Perrier's Bounty - it's probably my favourite Cillian film. Opinion is what makes the world go round and to see it so diluted in a topic such as this is really interesting to read

It's always so interesting to see how different people's choices are! You must see 28 Days Later, Cougarlady!! That was the first film I saw Cillian in, and the one that started it all. It's one of my absolute favourites because of that! So hard to believe I was like 13 when that came out!

Is there a thread on favourite films? I haven't seen all the films Cillian has been in. Watching The Detectives was the worst out of any for me but I still enjoyed it. The plot was crap but film don't always need to be mind benders. If anything he was hilarious in it, especially the baseball scene! I'm amazed folk don't like Perrier's Bounty! The story line was amazing... Jim Broadbent was a legend in it! The thing is, if you can't gel with Irish humour that might be the thing that doesn't tickle your fancy.

How Harry Became A Tree and Intermission are 2 of my top faves. I laugh hysterically every time I watch them. Colm Meany in HHBAT kills me every time, esp that scene when he's giving Cillian advice on how to handle women. The club scene in Intermission, omg, I can hardly type from shaking with laughter, clutch my sides...

Yay, I really hope you like it Cougarlady!! Re: Peac*ck. I've only ever watched it the once. I thought Cillian's performance as an actor was outstanding in that I couldn't even tell it was Cillian - he was completely immersed in that character, and I love his ability to do that. However, the film itself was just too bizarre for me. I can't really say what it was, really, because it wasn't the multiple personality part of it that bothered me. I think it was just the way the storyline panned out. I just wasn't a fan. I love Breakfast on Pluto, moreso the character of Kitten. I think playing a transvestite is a very brave role for any actor and I thought Cillian was excellent. That being said, I can understand why some don't like it, or don't want to see it. Also, I've decided that I really dislike Disco Pigs. That one just seemed like a bit too much to me. Peac*ck, Disco Pigs, and Edge of Love are probably the films I'd slip under "Once was enough"!

Peac*ck was a hit and miss- his acting was brilliant but I didn't like how the storyline turned out.The trailer looked really interesting but it felt rushed at the end. I also didn't like Sunshine that much when I tried watching it; it just didn't catch my attention so I didn't continue watching. But from reading all the great reviews I might try watching it another time.

Yeah... I agree with Pisces and Cougarlady on that some films just don't appeal for you to consider watching. That goes with all films, not just Cillian's stuff. I'm quite happy to sit and watch anything if I have the opportunity but it's only natural to like one film and not another or be wanting to see a film and not bothered with another.

I didn't like In Time. In fact, I hated In Time (yes, he played it well, but I don't know who ruined it more out of ALL of the other 'stars' because they were all terrible). Edge of Love was pure melodrama but he gripped me in his breakdown scene so I can forgive him for the role if not the film.
I realise that Watching the Detectives wasn't good but it's a guilty pleasure of mine because Neil is so damn adorable.
Peac*ck, liked. My kind of warped film. Again, let down by co-stars and perhaps poor editing but I felt it deserved at least an art house release.
Other than In Time and Edge of Love I can handle most of his films. I don't think hrs ever put in a performance I didn't love.

Well, I really do not think I have the stomach to watch Tron. Guess I'll watch his full 1 minute and a half on Youtube.... Besides that, I didn't really like Watching the Detectives....good beginning, nice idea, and Cillian's cute as a button, but I found it pointless in the end. And I don't think he had any chemistry with Lucy Liu. I usually like her quite a lot. Huh, not here. Not to be ageist, but she looked like his mom, she was weird as a character who was supposed to be young. Don't get me wrong, she's amazing, a very beautiful woman and I adored her in Cypher. Not here...

Peac*ck: To me the story was not convincing at all, but Cillian's performance blew me away...Peac*ck was the first Cillian's movie I've seen after getting hooked on him after Red Ligths...I could not believe it was him..what a trasnformation, but not only in terms of physical aspect, but also his acting was gorgeously constructed as an skittish man so meek he seems afraid of everything. The two characters are very different and Cillian brings them both to life rather well , I must say that the story is really intriguing, where Emma finally becomes the dominant personality but to me is not totallywhy she does what she does. When the credits rolled, I was so confused that I searched the extras for some clarification only to find an alternate ending that confused me even more. His transformation is just...amazing.
