I'm curious, what kind of work or school do you girls do? what have you done?
Right now I'm a secretary of sorts in a temp position. before that I went to receptionist school and spent the last 6 months desperate looking for placements at a hotel but nothing has come up. 3 years before that I worked part time in a café and bakery inside a supermarket, I loved that job as soon as I got over my social angst.
So what about you girls?

I work for a walmart cafe! Although its called ASDA where I work and is part of the walmarts! It looks kinda like walmart too! Last time I visited my mum walmarts had started doing george clothing too!!! Sorry went a bit off topic there :-)

Interesting thread, Bloody Rose!  I once was considering too to start such a topic. Well, here's what I do: I'm working as a seller in a pet shop. ;D Such a wonderful job. All these cute animals... And quite a contrast to my drawing, which I need.  Like you Bloody Rose, I had to overcome a social angst in the beginning...  But now everything is fine! |

Well, I don't really have a job since I've started college, but I'm doing volunteer work for an organisation for kids which is run by the RCMP. I do photography and film work for them, it's good experience and they'll make a pretty good reference. I'm also designing a website for a local beekeeper, whose mission is to save our bees by breeding healthy bees that aren't exposed to all the man-made chemicals. It's a very important message that needs to be spread, hence I agreed to doing a website for them! As for college, I'm studying the Applied Arts - planning on going into Graphic Design for my second year. |

Well right now I'm really just a college student. I'm a theater major and I've acted in several plays and want to continue with that but as for "real jobs" I haven't really had much. Besides doing some work here and there for my parents business I've worked as an actor at a haunted house specifically Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern for the past two Halloweens which does luckily pay and it's probably the most awesome job in the world! And for about six months I sold Pure Romance products. That was fun but I found I didn't like being a saleswoman and I started to worry I was losing more money then I was making. So yeah basically right now I'm just going to school and trying to get into some plays around town.

I'm about to burst!!
I applied for a placement at this hotel across the country thinking 'pfft they're never gonna pick me' I mean I've been turned down because of distance at hotels much closer to me...
Yesterday they sent me an email back and I thought it was another one of those 'Thanks for your application but we won't proceed with you, good luck in the future'
BUT! It was a personal email offering me to come visit the hotel and meet with the boss and all... they sound pretty upbeat about my application and my skills...
I still feel like they have mistaken me for someone else... this can't be happening to little me??

Aw thanks girls! my interview is tomorrow! 6 hours of travel time but I so hope it's gonna be worth it!
If anything, the hotel seems to be the most beautiful building I ever saw, it looks like a princess castle! And the views!
Also the hotel offered to pay for the ticket to see them, I can't believe they'd do that!

I got the job!! *runs around the room screaming*
I will have to move across the country and soon too, at least they've offered me that I can stay at the hotel until I find my own place.
The people I will work with are lovely, the boss and me got on so well too!
And... I had said something about my hobbies in my resume and we ended up talking about Breakfast on Pluto... Awh
