You can still be short and wiry and compact. Compact is tightly made. He's wiry because he's zipping around the stage every night. I'd probably describe him as 'sinewy' - his body in 28DL is very much that. When he takes his top off on stage he's not exactly emblazoned with muscle but his arms are pretty nice. He's got decent thighs as well from running. But his chest is very boyish. He's very slender. Not a 'built' man at all.
Thankfully he's gained some weight since Watching the Detectives. That was disturbing.

Back to the stage door thingy... I remember this lady who was there on her own, she had a walking stick and prolly in her late 40's early 50's wild guess. Gentle lass she was who had flown all the way from Japan on her own to see Misterman, she's a big fan of Cillian's. She was in town for 3 days and didn't speak much English bless her. I felt so bad for her that I was gonna grab her and whisk her to the theatre to get Cillian... (I wouldn't normally do something like that!) but I was too late anyway.

yeah, i had to look away--it was very daunting. I wanted to cook him some high calorie food. There's a scene where he's climbing out of the pool and it's just painful. What? Really?? I couldn't get my eyes OFF of him at that scene!! Not lying, I really found his body especially in WTD very beautiful and sexy. Very wiry and muscular, yet slender, but not in a weak way. In my opinion he wasn't looking meager or anything. Every single muscle was visible. Especially in that scene where he was climbing out of the pool.... I have to admit, I fancy men with a slender, muscular stature And Cillian's is delicious! Men with more muscles like Cilly I also love to look at, of course. But I just adore men's bodies with only less fat where you can see all the tendons and muscles. Maybe it's because I really love to draw bodies like this. I think that type of bodies are an eyecatcher! My opinion to his height: He doesn't look like a Goliath, that's for sure. And I do believe his body is tending to be quite a small type of men's body. But comparing him to every other man in the whole world I would guess he's average.

I guess -- but that's only a guess! -- that what stroke your eyes were mainly these special kind of muscles attached to the ribs (musculus serratus -- I had to google that ) Actually, they really look like ribs! I love them. LOL Sorry.... out of topic...

That's when I mean, Bunnie. He looked gorgeous but WAY too thin. Especially with the ribs. In bed with Violet his chest looks adolescent.
When you're jumping on Lucy Liu and you look thinner than her you need to be eating some cheesecake. But he's adorable in that film. Just...really scary thin.

Cheesecake...Cheesecake...Cheesecake...Cheesecake...Cheesecake...Cheesecake...Cheese AND Cake...
Sorry, I couldn't stop myself...
but alas, back on topic. I just thought he waited inside, err in his dressing room, until everybody left; or that's what I've been told.

I guess his argument could be he gives his all on stage. Some of them like the crowds and attention. Others feel very uncomfortable with it. I guess the sad truth is, they owe us nothing but performing to the best of their ability.
There are people who have met him though so I don't know if the 'waits in the dressing room' is strictly true. There's a fanpic from 21st that I posted earlier on. He certainly wasn't hiding then. And there were girls talking about having met him in the bar a couple of nights earlier (the night Seyfried was there). Said he was very jovial if a little quiet.
After that show I imagine it might take a little while to 'come down' from it. It's highly emotional. If he takes some time to gather himself after a show he's entitled to that. He's just given his all for 90 minutes on stage. I don't feel I can criticise that.
But again, people HAVE met him so who knows? Might just be a matter of patience or luck.

I'm sure he doesn't hide in his dressing room LMAO he didn't in Galway. He tends not to get as hounded in UK as he does in other places. He said that himself. He expects a few fans to be lingering around somewhere which doesn't bother him but I'm sure he does his A's to B's as he pleases. The thing I find rude is folk accosting him or any other well known artist away from work environments. Myself and anyone I worked with tended to use the front ways to pass through to work and only go to the back doors to sign in through the venues. Depends on the venues I suppose but if we were hanging for a while or meeting up it's the front way. It's cute having someone ask for autographs. Not like it's a mob fest. Strange and flattering experience.

If you can't see any form of rib grooves the person is either A. Obese/overweight or B. An alien And yes Zombz I LOVE the way you draw bodies! ;D I'm small & wiry but I eat tonnes of food, high metabolism.

quite a discussion Well, I admit I like lean men, I'm not a fan of muscles (and of course I married a very muscular man!) but Cillian is well built, if thin. There were *other* things I cringed at in WTD the script, namely! i don't think he hides in his dressing room I think he simply doesn't like the stage door and he prefers the lobby, that's all.

One thing is for sure: if he hasn't signed autographs these past days at the stage door, he won't do it in the future. I agree with you that he might end shattered, maybe no strength left as to face fans demands..but he does not hyde, either, since he can be seen on the bar nearby. I'm sure that if aproached on a nice way, at the apropiate moment, you'll get an smile and an autograph. The case of the japanese woman is admirable, she surely deserved a handshake from Cillian for crossing half the world only to see him on stage. There should be an space at the National Theatre backstage door with two areas for sign autograph well diferenced: locals and "from abroad"..ha,ha.. I know that most actors do sign autographs and takes and awful lot of time signing every paper is handed to them... see Jude Law in this video afger 2 1/2 of exhausting performance as Hamlet, and so he did night after night and facing a screaming mob (which was kind of freakin¡). www.youtube.com/watch?v=UILQvAGTC_I&feature=related I think is an extreme act of gentleness and kindness towards their fans, but some people can see that as a gesture of "a bath of multitudes" so Cillian's untypical. Although I am 100% that people who wait outside the National Theatre, has nothing to do with the fangirl mob that Jude had to face night after night. In his case, it was an act of bravery..the whole situation reminded me to a bull fighting, when the toro is released on the plaza to face the unexpected event that will take him to an unavoidable suffering. Olé for him¡¡¡ Maybe is not in Cillian's nature to be that fierce...After all, he gave it all on the stage.
