I've seen threads like this in other places online and thought it would be fun to start here. Sometimes our desktops say a lot about us. What does your desktop look like..? I always like to have beautiful locations as wallpaper, and keep the icons to a minimum. Can't stand clutter!

That's such a nice wallpaper, Pisces ! Well I'm currently learning C++ language and decided to put it to good use. I've never liked windows' desktop and icons anyway... The program is called RainMeter, I simply removed all the things I didn't need (imbedded VLC player, reboot and shut down buttons, RainMeter Ressources) and added a few I found useful (extra buttons, extra buttons everywhere!). Every shortcut works, the temperature and the weather are accurate, and the ARK Reactor in the middle opens Mozilla Firefox I blurred my IP adress out of paranoia too. xD

I've got Windows 7, and I have changeable desktop pictures...this is just one of my Ireland collection. I'm pretty sure by the time I post this, it'll have already changed

I love that picture, Bunnie... takes me right back to my 6 day trip to Dublin back in 2008 *starts daydreaming* I have been too lazy to change my desktop pictures since I got this laptop Wednesday so it's just a generic setting of some cartoon stuff... but I must say I do love the mini slide show on the side...

Jinx, I LOVE your desktop!! So much so that I downloaded Rainmeter, played around with it a little (managed to figure out how to change the fonts, lol), then realized I was in over my head. You must be GOOD with this stuff to have done yours up like you have - I'm impressed! So neat seeing everyone's desktops - kind of a little peek into our online selves. Thanks to everyone who has shared!

Wow, I don't dare post a screenshot of my desktop after seeing how neat you all keep yours! Mine isn't as bad as some I've seen, but it's a mess! I do a lot of web design, so I have random text files with code on there. And I have a lot of icons, too. I feel like cleaning it would defeat the purpose of this thread, though, so I'll post it when I'm on my laptop next.

WOW Girls, your desktops are awesome!! @ Jinx, I love yours too. That's the most creative desktop I have ever seen!! Not these boring icons and stuff. And Robertd Downey Jr... I like him very much! ;D @ Pisces: Hehe... I see you have Photoshop also close at hand. @ Cait... mine is messy too. In general I am messy with everything regarding PC stuff... Not really honoring towards my desktop motive LOL Oh well... here you see my fangirl desktop. What else could it be... (Am I the only one who has actually Cillian as a desktop background?? I'm feeling quite odd LOL)

He'd probably kill me for divulging this (what he doesn't know won't hurt him), but my husband used to play some of those Monkey Island games. They're funny! Cait, don't feel bad about a "busy" desktop! That shows you're always at work creating something! Mine's just super clean because I have OCD. Ha ha.

I couldn't live with my desktop... I've finally changed some stuff... I might change the font but it's just beautiful! The pictures of Kitten change every 5 minutes... I've missed having her on my desktop...

I'm posting this at nearly 4:30am. My sleep schedule is all out of whack! Also, my desktop isn't as terrible as I thought. I change my wallpaper very often but this is what it is at the moment. Some of the icons on there make me feel like a geek, but I didn't want to delete anything...

Haha Lord of the Rings Online omg ! That one is awesome Cait Is your wallpaper in 3D or is it just a cool effect? As for the RainMeter thing, it's really not that complicated. You just need to deduce and try. Change a number, see what it does, find new codes on google, use them, see what they do... It's fun ! If anyone wants to give it a try, I'd be more than happy to help ! And the reason RDJ is the one on my wallpaper rather than Mr Murphy (whom has been taking over my whole computer for at least 4 years now) is because the RainMeter skin I'm using is based upon J.A.R.V.I.S.'s interface in Iron Man (the A.I. conceived by Tony Stark that rules his house and office and armor and cars and computers and... etc xD). So I wanted to stick to the theme

Those are really pretty, Cait and Shamrocks. I must have the smallest monitor screen here - my icons look huge on the desktop compared to everyone else's! My laptop is O.L.D. Re: Jinx's earlier comment on the Windows icons - I agree, they are less than satisfactory. This site has really nice icons that are easy to download and switch out: www.iconarchive.com/Use these all the time. Some are really artistic and well done! And BTW, Cait - Exciting to see the Word file called "Ray."

Tales of Monkey Island - squeee! He'd probably kill me for divulging this (what he doesn't know won't hurt him), but my husband used to play some of those Monkey Island games. They're funny! OMG Monkey Island... Where do I START ??!! These games are SO funny and wonderful and creative and charming and and... I just love them, lol, obviously. These old time point and click adventure games... *sigh* They were so inventive and lovely !! And, I have to admit, I fell a little in love with Guybrush Threepwood as I played these games for the first time. That funny, cute Wannabe-Pirate... I simply love him. I don't think there is something comparable out there today... Okay... apart from "Tales of Monkey Island" the most recent installment of the game series.
