OHHHH !!! That sounds VERY intriguing! Cillian as the leader of a group of gangsters... Dulcemirita, that photo illustrates quite well my wishes about how this should look like ;D There is indeed something "sexy" about gangsters and that sort of stuff. At least in the romantic fantasy of us "outsiders" who were never involved in these kind of quarters... I have some difficulties with movies and stories about Mafia-esque groups. (Althought I have to admit there was I time when I found that stuff sexy LOL) But from your quote, Allstar, and the link I read that it's not quite about a Mafia-like group... so I think I will like it! And WOW!!! To see Cillian in a BBC series, right on TV and not on DVD, is something I always wished for!! Thank god I have that channel LOL Thanks Allstarr ! CB !

I've missed so much here this week! I have mixed feelings about this one; I completely love the idea of him playing a gangster and a ruthless one at that! I really enjoyed Eastern Promises, so this project has a lot of good things going for it. But DAMN why can't this be a movie instead of a TV series? I see potential for his character being something juicy and transformative, possibly even defining... and yet, it's something so many of his fans will either not see or have great difficulty in seeing. Interesting choice!

Actually, lately I've seen better scripted works on TV. I'm quite happy it's a miniseries....6 hrs......available to watch as soon as it's broadcast. I like the idea!

I wonder how long it would take to cross the Atlantic once it's released on UK & Ireland TV? That's a question that bugs me for you Pisces.

Motion pictures often have to bow to the pressure of money, masses and mainstream, while TV productions, as far as I can say that, have more room for experiments and risks. When I compare for example the BBC Sherlock to the Hollywood Sherlock (with Robert Downey jr) I have to say that the BBC version is much cleverer and better done. Also I really loved the BBC Dr Jekyll story!!! That was stunning! Also the idea of being able to stretch the developement of a character and story over several hours/episodes is very intriguing. Still, I feel of course tremendously sorry for my fellow fans from "the wrong side of the pond"

Not to sound too cynical, but TV is very easy to get on the internet...personally, I do not own a TV, so my plan is to get it from the internet when it's broadcast, then to buy the Blu Ray when it's released.
