He felt something hot and wet burning in his eyes and streaming down his cheek. Angrily he wiped away the tear, but still more came and his vision blurred, making the alley look like it was swimming in murky brine. Almost in relief, Jonathan reached for his Scarecrow mask, now torn and stained, and slipped it over his face to conceal his grief. Now the world would just see a gruesome and terrifying visage, and never see the pain and sorrow that dwelt beneath. Waaaaaaaaaaaahhh! That was so nicely put. I love how you've left it ambiguous, again, whether Jon has experienced love for the first time or sex or both .... More! I must read more! |

Yes, three posts in a row, I am wicked. Gunpowder tossed his head briefly as they turned the corner and began their long walk down Sweeney Street – As in Sweeney Todd?  He gazed at the patients’ records beneath his feet, stained, torn and burned – years of his research either destroyed or damaged beyond repair. He honestly didn’t know if he could ever recover it again and now that his subjects were gone – now that they had returned to their native environment to wreak whatever wickedness and evil they wished upon it. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. His fists clenched hard, feeling his nails biting into his palm. This is sad. Twisted as his work may have been, it was his work. I've got to share Alex's refrain. Where is Mom??? |

What, no graphic detail? Azina, you tease. Alex has been trying to make me write a more extended version of their lovemaking, which I'll probably have to post in private to maintain its PG-13 rating on the forum. Are you 18? Emily always was smart and even when she's in love she isn't the one to shut down her brain. LMAO!! I think Emily would look good in little red Inquisition hat and robe, don't you? |

Here I was thinking of some sweet lady philanthropist and you're thinking of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Yeah, I did feel sorry for Jonathan. And this might be twisted logic, but Jonathan really felt he was saving Gotham by his work on the criminals "curing" them and keeping them off the streets. Uhhh ... I can't ... telll ... you. I would give away a major plot point. |

Wow...that is such a brilliant line. He has used the mask to hide his deep-rooted, internal, pain for so long and now he is using it to disguise the physical, external, manifestations of his pain...great job!

Wow...I am loving this story so much...I can't wait to find out what has happened to his mother.
I love how you portray Crane...he's so fully human...feeling love and pain but still capible of being lead by Scarecrow into desire for power and revenge.
