He's uniquely beautiful, which is the best kind in my opinion. He's got a face that you look at and don't really take notice of, but then when you look again you realise just how beautiful he is. It does take a deeper look, but it's there

I understand what the reviewer meant by "not in the classical sense." Cillian is striking in such an unusual way. And it's interesting because he seems to have this effect on men as well. I think Cillian makes most men uncomfortable because he is beautiful, not necessarily "handsome" the way, say, Mel Gibson or Bruce Willis is handsome. Yesterday, while washing dishes, it occurred to me that I don't think I could ever BE with a man like that. I would feel so insecure around him. I wonder how his wife feels....He's so much prettier than she is, if you get my drift. It's got to be hard to be out with him and have everyone staring at him and pretty much ignoring you. It's like that song (except substitute 'he' for 'she'): users.cis.net/sammy/drhook2.htmBeing with someone who is that striking can be an intimidating thing. Now, this is not to say I wouldn't sleep with him in a heartbeat! But a relationship beyond friendship would be too much.

Even though I admit I know what they mean by "classical sense." Christian Bale is handsome in the "classical sense" (i.e. what the culture finds typically handsome). What I find so sexy about Cillian is how uniquely beautiful his looks are. You can't walk down the street (unfortunately) and see someone else with looks like that. Those full lips, high cheek bones ... and his most incredible feature ... those amazing eyes. It either inspires two reactions 1. Wow, he is so gorgeous. 2. Ew! He's creepy! My friends fall into the No. 2 catagory ... clueless them.

He is so beautiful, he would naturally draw attention to himself ... it's obvious Chris Nolan was impressed by him. It probably would be tough to be around with him unless you were gorgeous yourself. Regardless, I'm sure it must be worrisome to have so many women staring at him and afraid that someone would take him away from you.
