My favorite part is so faint it doesn't even show up in the scan, but apparently after he signed it, he brushed the not totally dry sharpie with his finger, because there's a very light partial fingerprint on it. ;D

Actually, that's the best idea. It is always better to scout around for the address of the agency that represents him and send all fan mail to them.

I would write a simple letter just saying how much you have loved his work in all the various movies of his you have managed to lay your hands on and watch - and that his success, which is only now more apparent, is long-due.

That sounds simple, right?? I am sure if you try, you could write a very nice, restrained letter to him....I know it's hard but the result would be a letter that he might be able to return with some autograph or something...
