I own nothing affiliated to Batman or Red Eye.
Please don't sue me...
If the story is retarded please tell me and I'll delete it
I've never written a fan fiction before though I do write stories
If this survives give much constructive criticism
I haven’t written in a while so I’m rusty.
yeah...
A pair of familiar blue eyes stared. At her, no not at her, past her. They were staring just behind her shoulder. The blue eyes had the same chilling aura as…
“Miss…? Are you all right?” the Hotel Manager inquired, a perfect mix of concern and sympathy in her tone. Distracted, Rachel turned around to face the front desk.
“ Hmm? Oh sorry. I thought…I felt someone watching me…”she trailed off.
“I know what you mean,” the hotel manger commented falling into what seemed a reverie herself. Her gray eyes unfocused for what seemed a second before she caught her self . A polite smile slipped onto her face as she resumed the role of manager.
“My apologies. Do you have a reservation Miss…?”
“ Dawes, Rachel Dawes. Yes, I do,” Rachel returned.
“Alright, let me have a look here,” fingers deftly typed a search and words almost automatically came out.
“You are in Room 3019. There are the elevators to your left and a great bar in the lobby in case you want to wind down. Have a great stay at the Lux Atlantic Resort! If you have any questions or complaints, just find me, Lisa Reisert and I’ll be happy to help.”
“ Thank you Lisa.” Rachel automatically replied. Her mind was already falling into deep thought as she moved toward the elevators.
Lisa looked back towards the Lobby where rachel had been staring. She saw only guests young and old. No sight of blue eyes there. She sighed in relief. Then a glance at security monitors showed a familiar figure in a hallway. His back was turned but it was if she knew it by sight. Her heart began to race and terror slowly crept its way into her heart.
“No…,”Lisa half sighed and whimpered. He was going into a room now. It was Dawes’ room. Lisa tried to control her panic as she saw Rachel, unawares, rounding a corner near the room. As she walked to the elevators, blue eyes flashed in her mind. Her pace quickened.
He was lounging on the chair when she came in, lazily holding a glass of scotch. Those familiar blue eyes gazed at her mockingly. She paused a moment but was the first to look a way. Lugging her suitcase on top of her bed she seemed to sigh.
“You aren’t supposed to be here.”
“Couldn’t help it. You’re not happy to see me? I’m happy to see you. ” he replied back brightly.
“How do you expect me to do my job when you’re breaking into hotel rooms? Remember that there’s a restraining order.” she chided as she opened her suitcase.
“ Gosh ‘Dear’ you don’t have to worry about it. Nobody saw me. Come on, no harm done.” he retorted.
“There is to Her. It might have been an year since but I can tell she’s spooked.”
“Well it isn’t as if I’m completely back to normal. There’s still scarring.” he retorted.
“Well she’s the victim not you. You’re damn lucky you got most of the charges dropped. By the way, you never told me what happened Jackson.” she said.
“ Well you never told me about the Gotham incident Rachel. Everyone has their secrets to keep. Stay out of mine and I’ll stay out of yours.” Jackson countered a bit angrily.
“No need for threats Jackson. I’m keeping you out of jail remember? How did you find out about Gotham anyways? I never mentioned it.” Rachel said, harshly yanking clothes out of her suitcase.
“As I’ve said I have my secrets and connections. Tell me how she is.” Jackson cheerily inquired.
“ She’s fine. She’s spooked,” Rachel sighed, “Is that the whole reason you’re here? Risking parole violations to see her? Doesn’t seem so coolheaded to me.”
“ No, of course I’m not here for that. It’s a plus though. I’m here to see you. Seeing you is part of the job.” With that Jackson grinned amiably as though he knew it would frighten her further. Rachel froze.
“You aren’t going convict on me right Jackson?” she questioned uneasily.
“Wrong again Miss Dawes. Ra’s sent me here. Ra’s Al Ghul? You haven’t heard of him have you.” seeing her confusion he continued. “He’s the brilliance behind the Arkham incident in Gotham. The home town you loved so much you had to leave within months of that occurrence, isn’t that correct Miss Dawes?”
“Don’t call me that. And I didn’t just move because of Arkham, there were… personal reasons. None of your business as you’ve said.” Rachel said coldly.
“Well it’s my business now isn’t it Rachel? You’re a job now. It’s not personal, just business. It concerns someone whose saved you quite a couple of times and seems to take a liking to you,” he hinted, “Can’t you guess? How about this. He’s a freak who dresses up like a bat and ruined the plan. Since we know what’s important to him, we know his weakness. You.”
Lisa rushed to find the room number…30.…3019 aha! There were voices within, a man and a woman though muffled by the thick door. Her hands shook as she took out her managerial key card and inserted it.
The door beeped and the both the shocked Rachel and Jackson gaze at the opening door.
