Yesterday while gardening for my aunt I had the song 'I Will Love You Monday' by Aura Dione stuck in my head and this story just jumped into my head... despite the humor I put in my In Time series I haven't done comedy in a while so bear with me!
This is the song in question:
it was especially this part of the lyrics:
"I will love you Monday
and you will hurt me Tuesday
I will kill you Thursday
If you don't stop me Wedensday
Forgive you on a Friday
Reunion on a Saturday
Forgotten on a Sunday..."
So without further ado I bring you
~¨I Will Love You Monday¨~
When Neil was coming home early that one Tuesday he couldn’t help but think about his luck. After the crazy girl Violet left his life he never thought he’d find another girlfriend but Daisy was something else. Daisy loved watching his favorite movies and smiled every time he rambled on about some scene in some movie no one but him had ever heard about… Daisy was a rare gem he found.
Neil had barely opened the door before he heard her voice
“Oh yes! That’s right! Right there, yes through… oh that is perfect!” Neil’s eyes widened as he barged through to the living room where he found Daisy sitting on the couch with another man!
The man was wearing a neat suit over a grey shirt and covering his neck was a maroon silk scarf; Daisy was teaching him to knit!
“What the hell?” Neil asked blinking his eyes at the scene.
“Oh hi Neil” Daisy smiled sweetly
“Who is this, in my home?” Neil asked; not that much could surprise him after Violet
“Oh that’s just Jackson” she patted the man on the shoulder “His therapist Dr. Crane thought he’d benefit from doing a little knitting; he’s in anger management you see… something about a girl on a plane, a bomb and a hotel or something… but we don’t talk about that, do we Jackson?” she looked at the man. Neil’s mouth dropped open
“He’s a criminal?” he gasped
“Ex criminal, Jackson has come a long way now” she explained
“Daisy who is that?” the man asked, gesturing towards Neil
“Oh, uhm that’s Neil he is my uh… boyfriend” Daisy’s eyes sought the floor
“What?” Jackson dropped the scarf he was knitting, clenching his fist
“Easy, remember what Dr. Crane told you” Daisy whispered
“I thought I was special!” Jackson raised his voice
“See what you did now?” Daisy looked accusingly at Neil “of course you are!” she turned to Jackson
“How long has this ‘knitting’ been going on?” Neil asked making quotation marks into the air with his fingers
“A couple of weeks now, Jackson really needs this” Daisy said; patting Jackson on his thigh “I think it’s best if you come back next Tuesday” she told him
“Oh, okay” Jackson said and got up.
“Better call Dr. Crane when you get home” she reminded him and he nodded and left, passing Neil who was still standing there wide eyed.
“Dr. Crane isn’t that…?” Neil pointed towards her. She was still sitting on the couch with her folded hands in her lap; not looking directly at him
“My therapist yes; He’s really good” she said
“I bet he is, so do you ‘knit’ with him too?” he asked, making ‘knitting’ sound like something dirty and wrong
“No” she said wringing her hands
“What are you seeing Dr. Crane about?” Neil asked her, now crossing his arms
“That’s private” she said
“Daisy who are you even?” he asked her. She swallowed
“Okay fine… Dr. Crane and I are working on some sexual frustrations I have” she admitted.
“What?” Neil asked
“Well… uhm… his treatments are really helping though… he’s really good at it” she explained
“Oh I bet” Neil spat “So Mondays you and I have movie nights, Tuesdays you ‘knit’ with that guy and Wednesdays you have sex with Dr. Crane?” he said spitefully
“You make it sound like a bad thing” she heaved a sigh
“What about Thursdays?” he wanted to know
“I uhm… you know my sudden love for brown sauce?” she looked up at him now
“Yes?” Neil was curious
“You see there was this guy I met at the café who put brown sauce in his coffee… well…” she needn’t say more
“His name, Daisy!” Neil ordered
“John” she admitted “brown sauce tastes really good you know…” she tried to talk herself out of it
“Friday?” Neil barely dared ask
“Do you remember the guy who was talked down from that building?” she asked and Neil nodded
“Yes, his girlfriend had just killed herself” he said
“Yes, well I talked him down… and well… you know I couldn’t just let him go” she shrugged her shoulders
“And what is his name then?” Neil wanted to know
“Jonathan, he’s a lovely guy really” she said, her gaze returned to the floor
“Saturday?” Neil wondered
“Civic duty” she was quick to answer
“What does that mean??”
“Robert Capa is trying to save the sun; it’s a really long way up there and it gets really stressful so I… uhm… we video chat” she swallowed hard
“You video chat?” Neil said
“Yes, imagine if he lost his mind up there… who would save the earth then?” she tried to sound innocent
“I don’t believe this!” Neil was shaking his head
“And before you ask, I am seeing Kitten on Sundays” she was ahead of him
“Kitten? Please tell me you’re talking about a cat!” he said
“Kitten she’s a lovely person; her and I we cook and go shopping on Sundays!” she gleamed
“What the hell Daisy” Neil cried out “You’re sick!”
“Yes, yes I am Neil” she looked up at him again with wet eyes “That’s why I’m seeing Dr. Crane” she said
“Does anyone of them know about each other?” he asked, running his hand through his hair in bewilderment
“Dr. Crane knows everything and Kitten knows about you, John and Jonathan… and uh, now Jackson knows about you… ” she was thinking quite hard
“For how long has this been going on?” Neil asked
“A few months” she started playing with a strand of her hair
They didn’t get further before the front door was kicked in. Neil jumped and so did Daisy. In came the man from before holding onto an insanely large knife.
“Dr. Crane isn’t in right now, they told me to make an appointment!“ Jackson hissed, pulling at the scarf around his neck.
“Jackson!” Daisy shrieked
“I thought I was special Daisy!” he cried looking at Daisy who was leaving the couch “We had a good thing!” he staggered towards her, passed Neil who was frozen stiff; Madmen in his home was something he’d never get used to!
“We do!” she said, taking a step backwards “Just put down the knife and we can continue on your scarf, remember?” she picked it up to show him
“I don’t care about the scarf!” he hissed “I care about you! And you’re with him!” he pointed towards Neil “That nerd!”
“Hold it!” Neil yelled “Get the hell out of my home!”
“Watch it!” Jackson looked towards Neil, pointing the knife in his direction “This is between her and I!”
“Why do I attract the crazies!” Neil complained as he threw his arms up and went upstairs
“Neil, don’t leave!” Daisy screamed
“Now I have you to myself” Jackson said and stepped towards Daisy who took another step backwards and soon they were running around the living room; him trying to catch her.
“Can’t we talk about this?” she asked holding out the knitting needles for protection against Jackson and his big knife
“I’m sick of talking!” Jackson hissed holding the knife over his head
“Neil, HELP!” Daisy screamed. The sound of a gunshot made her shriek again. Jackson fell to the floor moaning; where the front door once had been stood a man holding a gun
“You okay?” he asked in his thick Irish accent
“Yes, yes” she panted, holding a hand to her chest. After checking Jackson was really dead he put the gun in his pants and reached out a hand towards her
“Michael McCrea” he announced himself
“I’m Daisy” she said with a smile on her lips
