Is there any of his movies you won't be watching again?
For me I feel that way about Peac*ck. I know I have to re-watch it someday but I feel like I'm gonna need a lot of emotional strenght.
I actually think part of why I don't like it is that Cillian is doing such an incredible job at it.
John reminds me of who I could have turned into, had I not met the friends I have today; I don't mean the thing about turning into Emma but his mental issues and awkward behavior... Also I have this tendency after watching a movie that gets under my skin to unwillingly mirror the character and for a whole day I was like John and it freaked me out!

I really liked Peac*ck! The idea is intriguing and I really love such psycho stuff. Also Cillian did a amazing performance. The most amazing part: When Emma "dresses up" as John! So confusing and strange! But you can really see that change in Cillians amazing acting. Only thing I don't like: In my opinion they could have made much more with the whole idea and concept of the movie. At the end you feel like there should be more, that there's something missing. The script, I think, was just not developed enough. The movie I don't like that much is "Edge of Love"... Just couldn't get warm with the characters and the story. I enjoyed only Cillians performance.

Cillian surely did an amazing job in the movie, and I don't think it had freaked me out as much if it had been a lesser talented actor. I found a video on youtube where Cillian is practicing John and I admire him so much for it.
It was just like seeing a ghost and a car crash at the same time because it was so believable, John really gets under your skin.
I also agree with you on The Edge of Love... I actually found it quite boring but Cillian looks great in it at least!

Edge of Love for me, too. All of the characters in that film besides Cillian's irritated me, and also the storyline was pretty boring to me. I've only watched it the once. Same with Disco Pigs, not because I didn't enjoy it, it's just way too heartbreaking for me.

The Edge of Love was kinda...icky, i can't STAND Kiera Knightly...everything just seemed forced.
now Peac*ck, I was just disappointed in the ending, it had great potential, and then that ending happened and I turned to my brother and said "WTF did we just watch!?"

I really enjoyed The Edge of Love. I thought the guy who played Thomas(can't remember his name right now!) was really great and Cillian was brilliant of course. I didn't find it boring, but that may be because i'm interested in poetry in general so the story of Thomas's life appealed to me. I don't like Sienna Miller but i do like Keira Knightley.
Having only watched Peac*ck once i was extremely impressed with the performances, especially the complex role Cillian played, but the story just seemed too muddled and the ending was a let down. It just seemed like they didn't really know how to end it, instead of it being a climax it was the lowest point of the film for me. That's the only one i can really say i wasn't pushed on.

Perhaps a little controversial but i don't really like Sunshine I'm a huge fan of Danny Boyle - Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later..., The Beach, A Life Less Ordinary - but i just found Sunshine to be a bit of a let down. None of the suspense that Boyle is so famed for. Brilliant direction nevertheless - the end scenes were beautiful and the shots of the sun and stars stunning. Cillian was also fabulous. But i just didn't warm to it as a film at all. For the record: i haven't seen Peac*ck yet (i'm working on it) ;D

My least favorite of Cillian's movies is Peac*ck. And I never thought I would say this, but it's the only movie of his that I didn't like his performance. It was just too "much" for me and I didn't buy into it for a moment. Couldn't find anything in it to believe in, or enjoy. There are a few I'm lukewarm about - WTD is one, Edge of Love is another. WTD just wasn't my style of movie at all, and I didn't like EoL for the same reasons as everyone else has mentioned - detestable characters, boring plot. Cillian was good in it though. I've never gotten into 28 Days Later either, lol. Dunno why. I just never connected with that one.

I kinda liked Peac*ck, but yeah, it was quite...scary. And you're probably right about the ending, but I was in a way glad that there was something good left in John/Emma.
I have to confess that I yet have to give a "The wind that shook the barley" a second chance. I didn't dislike it, but when we watched it in school I couldn't really relate to it, I don't know why, as I said, I have to watch it again.
Haven't seen "The edge of love" yet, but it's definitely on my list, although I daresay that Keira Knightley's presence is a bit off-putting. I'm not a big fan of hers.

I have four, a most shocking four (none of which is Watching the Detectives, which I love as a charming nod to the nerd-video-store era), but the only one I will name by name is Peac*ck. (Yes, his performance was too out-there, and, yes-plus, the plotholes were wider than the wide prairie sky.) I can't name the other three, lest I Incur Wrath over the level of my dislike for at least two of them. (I mean, I really, REALLY hate these films. It's not just "Edge of Love: meh": at least one of the Great Unnamed gets me so riled up I don't even like to bring it to mind.) Let's just say that one of them would not have enjoyed the accolades it received had it been about any other topic, and one of them has a script so fall-down-the-damn-stairs clumsy that it ought to be used in screenwriting classes as an example of how not to write a script. (To his, and their, credit, I'm almost certain that the version of the script Cillian and the other members of the cast saw when they signed on to do the film was not the version that ended up on screen. The thing went through scads of re-writes, even heading into production.) I like Cillian, but I don't have to like everything he does. My (blurry, ambiguous) opinions: I'm sticking to 'em...!

I wouldn't exactly say not like. But there's definitely some that I think could have been better, and that I don't like quite as much as other of Cillians films - though for reasons that had nothing to do with Cillians acting. I concur that the Edge of Love could have been done better. And I definitely think the same with Sunshine as didn't think the plot was constructed as well as it could have been. I didn't think there was anything badly wrong with the Detectives. For the most part I quite like it, and still re-watch it every once in a while. But it's not one of those comedies I could watch all the time. There are others I prefer. I think it's probably more of a personal taste thing, rather than there being anything wrong with the film. I wouldn't go so far as to say I'd never watch any of the movie's again. Just that they're films I only occasionally re-watch!
