Here's another article that seems obsessed with Cillian's 'creepy' performances this year. Cinematic creep show: Are these movie stars really creepy or really fine actors? Here are seven actors who beg the question Wednesday, October 26, 2005 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette The creepiest guy in movies this year has been CILLIAN MURPHY, so sleazy and psychotic in "Batman Begins" as the villainous Scarecrow and so seductively nasty as the bad guy in the sky in "Red Eye," above. Murphy, who next plays the transvestite Kitten in "Breakfast on Pluto," has been at his best channeling the King of Creepy, Anthony "Psycho" Perkins. Here are a half-dozen of Murphy's fellow actors who fit that mold and beg the question: Do they give us the creeps because they're creepy, or are they fine actors who can get under the skin of any role? ************************ I think we know the answer to that question! The other actors cited are Crispin Glover, Steve Buscemi, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Brad Dourif, Louise Fletcher.

Yeah, it's too bad both movies came out so close together. Maybe if BoP had been released in between it wouldn't have the same impact as two bad-guy roles in a row.

I still don't think it'll give him a problem (being typecast). He's worked with a lot of fine directors who know the quality and diversity of his work. I'm sure other directors looking to cast him will recognize the same. We also know that Cillian doesn't like to play the same roles over and over again.
I agree though, if BOP could have been in between it wouldn't have put so much emphasis on it. Also, both movies RE & BB were bigger movies, so they caught the attention of the general public more.
