ok. so i don't know about you, but even if its not a big two page spread in vogue, i was flipping through my inside entertainment november issue and ( JUST when I was talking about said article in VOGUE) at the bottom of one page there's a little filler about celebrities and their favourite books. Cill was one of three and there wasn't much there. it said:
"I love the magus by John Fowles. It is probably my favourite. I first read it when I was a teenager while hitch-hiking around france (( I'm sorry but WHAT?*dies*)), and it had a very profound affect on me. I don't re-read books very often - just this one and don Quixote "
He hitch-hiked across france?? that is like, completely and utterly cool. did you all know that already?? well I didn't. The picture of him has been posted on here I know, in a few sigs, I will find it when I have time, my fave. show is on!

I won't even go into what your comments made me think of peaches... okay, maybe a little. I'd definitely give him a ride *coughs* So sorry!!! I've really been reading a lot more lately, I was missing it too much. I'm reading BOP right now and might read Butcher Boy as well, but I think I'll add this book to my reading list. It sounds like a typical book I might read. From Amazon.com:A man trapped in a millionare's deadly game of political and sexual betrayal.
Filled with shocks and chilling surprises, The Magus is a masterwork of contemporary literature. In it, a young Englishman, Nicholas Urfe, accepts a teaching position on a Greek island where his friendship with the owner of the islands most magnificent estate leads him into a nightmare. As reality and fantasy are deliberately confused by staged deaths, erotic encounters, and terrifying violence, Urfe becomes a desperate man fighting for his sanity and his life. A work rich with symbols, conundrums and labrinthine twists of event, The Magus is as thought-provoking as it is entertaining, a work that ranks with the best novels of modern times.

maybe he was going on the inter rail (tour of europe by train: that's very common for youngsters) and had to cover some of the distance hitch hiking...

That book sounds quite good. I'll have to track it down after I read BoP.

does any1 else think that Cillian is like SUPER smart. I mean every time I read his interviews I feel like there is soo much more to him than meets the eye....like he's not just in the business for the fame/money but actually thinks he can make a difference to society...which he already has I guess.... Aha the local lib seems to have a copy of the book...I'm def. gonna check it out....
