Wonder if he's not in the blog because of-- Well, it's kind of a story: Press night, we're milling around the stage door after the show, and this gal sweeps past me with a video camera, making a beeline for Cillian. "Silly-an!" she twitters-- and he looks brusquely at her and keeps walking. I said "Idiot" at her back. Couple days later, back home, I was cruising blogs, and I found an incident similar to what I saw-- only this woman-- and I'm not saying it absolutely was the gal in the stage-door alley, but it sure seems like it-- compounded her foul at the after-party. And now she has it in for Cillian. Grrrrr. Here's the link: princessbex.lastminuteliving.com/becky/2006/12/coughs_and_cele.htmlI zapped her. I have a tricky last name, and I get sick as hell of people butchering it. The trick is, you want something for your blog, you make an appointment. You set it up. You don't just stick a camera in someone's face. Especially if you can't be bothered to learn how to pronounce their name. Again: GRRRRR.omg people like that r gonna cause cillian to hate his fans, i hope he doesn't get the impresion that a lot of them don't know his name! it just aggrivates me. plus i don't know how people think its an "s" sound the other spelling of his name is "Killian" its like so why the hell would it be "sillian"LOL there's no "s" involvedLOL

Oh boy, how embarassing and uncouth. I have to wonder at people, especially since I'm so shy myself. She acts rudely and then gets mad that she's ignored for it. She was lucky enough to get tickets to the afterparty!!!! If I had a ticket, I would have stayed quietly enjoying myself just being there. Ok, yeah, the cast would probably have gotten creeped out by my staring at them, but I would never be obnoxious, lol.

Ugh, that lady is so frustrating. I mean, I thought his name was pronounced "Sillian" when I first saw it, too, but I never actually said it OUT LOUD until I learned for sure. If I was going to try to get him to do a video blog (first I'd make an appointment, obviously, because I would automatically assume that doing something like a video blog would REQUIRE an appointment, not some stupid spur of the moment camera in his face) and I had never heard anyone credible pronounce his name, I would totally have looked it up. I mean, HONESTLY. Tons of articles these days even add in the line "pronounced KILL-ee-an" to make sure we understand.
Plus, it's kind of stupid for him to be her "celebrity enemy" because he was rude to her. Obviously it was press night. I'd probably be a little irritated, too.

She really is annoying and a reason of why I hate (only some) people with those type of jobs! Punctuator I loved your comment on the "RANT" blog. haha. That chick needs to go dig a HUGE hole. I've got no sympathy for Cillian haters -- especially her type or just her. Gah it just. He was innocent, he corrected her. If your appologizing do so properly. Dont bother him with your "lovely" camera. Bleh. Thats what I want to say to her "Bleh."
Haha and bitterpics I agree, I hope he knows his true fans can actually say his name correctly!
Don't worry bud, we've got your back.

This is veering a bit-- but it's way early or way late, and it's absolutely at that heading-into-the-holiday-weekend ghost town stage here, so--
CASTING.
Without giving away the whole show, I'm going to say this: Neve Campbell is the weak spot in the cast. She tends to stampede her delivery, she mislays her line emphases, and she doesn't know where the hell she's going with her accent: she does this weird semi-American Southern sing-song thing at times-- for reasons known, apparently, only to her-- and inaudible, obviously, to the director, who oughtta put a stop to such nonsense RIGHT QUICK. So here we go: The Forces of Fantasy [Re-]Casting humbly submit the following suggestion:
In the role of Molly...
(... remember, this is a "fantasy" thing...)
...Rachel McAdams.
She can do tough, she can do (very) funny, she can do sensitive and tender and intense. She can act the beechnuts off of Neve Campbell. Yep: Rachel. We know she strikes sparks with Cillian, and she and Kristen Johnston would have had perfectly complementary energy levels on-stage....
But.... Yeah, yeah, okay: shutting up now....

HI, MY NAME IS AMANDA, AND I LOVE RACHEL MCADAMS.
I wish Rachel and Cillian would just be cast together in everything. It would make it so much easier. They play off each other so well, and they're both great actors who can hold their own even if they aren't onscreen/onstage together.
A little off-subject, but has anyone else here read The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger? Because they're making a movie of it, and so far Rachel McAdams is in talks to play Clare, and Cillian would pretty much be the MOST PERFECT-EST HENRY EVAR. Even physically. No lie.

^OMG! I bought that book two years ago because I heard Brad Pitt was in talks to play in it. I still haven't read it, but I heard so many good things about it.

You know puncuator when I heard Neve was casted, I wasn't sure how she would be on stage. No offense to her at all, but I am not a huge fan. I don't dislike her. I just think Cillian needs a strong cast to work with. I am hoping to see the play in march. So hopefully I can really see. I think you are right though. Rachel is a strong player. I think she could have pulled off playing opposite him. jmo.

Problem, too: when Neve starts to lose control of her accent, you can tell that Cillian has a little trouble keeping HIS accent in the ballpark. The one night-- think it was the Friday before I came home-- she started really rushing her lines in their first scene, just avalanching the damn words, and, God, it was just like watching one of our plays in high school. I almost had to keep myself from yelling "SLOW. THE HELL. DOWN--!!!" Probably good I didn't: the folks sitting directly in front of me ended up being friends of Cillian's: he greeted both of 'em, a thirty-ish curly-haired man and blonde woman, with hugs in the alley after the show. "Ah, you made it--!"
(Not that the guy who used to direct our high school plays would've put up with verbal roadrunning like that. He was an ex-Marine Corps drill instructor, and he'd keep a bucket of tennis balls on hand. If anyone was missing their blocking or otherwise screwing up, he'd just hoist a ball and let fly. Our band pit was at the rear of the stage; we were probably the only pit group in recent memory that heard the word "INCOMING!!" on a regular basis. Fun times!)

I just think Cillian needs a strong cast to work with. DEFINITELY! I mean, he can hold a cast by himself, I'm sure, but I think for him to excel, to really excel, he needs strong actors around him to make everything on the same playing field. I remember how hard it was in drama class (and this was just high school, hello!) to act opposite someone who couldn't hold their own. It's like trying to make up for it yourself and overacting or focusing way too much on them and you can't get anything done for yourself. There's nothing to play off of if the other person sucks! (Not that the guy who used to direct our high school plays would've put up with verbal roadrunning like that. Our drama teacher (we didn't have "directors," so she was the closest we came) was kind of a pushover, but she was so much fun that we all wanted to work for her. I'll be the tennis balls were effective, HAHA. I reallyreallyreally hope Neve improves. It'll be really sad if Cillian has to work with her suckage every day. =(

Punctuator, I was wondering if any of his fans freaked out on him at all? I know that probably didn't happen, but I was just wondering if anyone swooned.lol. I am hoping on going to the play in march. I know it is on until the 7th. Maybe by then Neve will do a better job. I was also wondering if he meets with people after every play. I didn't expect that. I just plan on taking a peek. I don't think I will approach him.

(at least onscreen of course) I did not hate Neve in Party of Five but she was my least favorite Salinger. I hope her actin improves soon. About Rachel and Cillian's chemistry, I agree w/you... They're really great together. I also liked it when he worked with Elaine Cassidy in Disco Pigs. That was great castin too On the other hand... what's an HP?
