I swear Americans are so uptight! There was no reason for Young Adam to be slapped with an NC-17 rating. Honestly! There was not enough "little Ewan" (not little at all either ) shown to begin with. Nothing pornographic, maybe soft-porn, but shot and edited in good taste.
NC-17? Ugh...honestly!

funny, but I actually wish that NC-17 didn't have such a stigma attached to it (most distributors seem to equate it with an X, which is such bullsh*t) - it's a shame that so many movie theaters won't carry NC-17 films, especially not the big multiplexes, which means I have to take the train into the city to see this and did you say "little Ewan"??!! gulp Ewan is the man! you gotta love him...he's just determined to get his willy out, any chance he gets! it must be in his contract or something I haven't seen Young Adam yet, so I can't comment, but...I do recall that Velvet Goldmine only got an R rating, and his jiggly bits were all over that film, on full display (which was just glorious, wow!) in addition to some very hot boy-on-boy action, so... you're right, the MPAA is just silly, what else is new!

hrmm...this article I found has some interesing theories on why Americans (especially men) are so uptight about this... msnbc.msn.com/id/4235583/props to "little Ewan" and Henry & June, a beautiful film that really didn't deserve the "controversy" surrounding it...

Yeah, I mean its just a body part. They show boobs all the time whats wrong with the occasional willy (As natasha said) I think my favorite quote of Ewan's is "I'm just waiting for that moment to drop my Jedi knickers and pull out my real lightsaber" and from what guys have said..... Anyways, that bothers me too. I hate it when filmakers have to edit their films just to get an R rating. If sombody decides to watch it and they are seriously offended, then that's their problem from not expecting something 'shocking' from a movie that was going to be NC-17
