hey girlies!
So last night I randomly found 'The Notebook' the actual book by Nicholas Sparks on my bookshelf, and being facinated to see how the written story compared to the on-screen version, I read into the wee hours of the morning. As of two minutes ago, I finished and I'm torn...
So to those of you who have actually read the book, which did you like better? The screen-play or the novel?

I wish I had read the book first, I can't see a movie then read the book because my imagination is tainted. I bet the book is better, seeing how you finished it within the hours.

*SPOILER* Well... imo it was totally different and I found myself wondering if Sparks was angry after he saw the film. The book itself flies by the couple's summer together, scarecly giving any details, and their attraction was mutual, not just Noah as in the movie. The author instead choose to elaborate mainly on the day Allie came back to Noah... describing it in enorbous detail, and then a few more pages and the book is over. The old couple don't even die in the end... they kiss and uhm ... well yess. The character development I think was better in the movie, and this is a very rare occasion for me to think a movie better than its book, but it's true. The characterization of Noah differed slightly as well... all in all I find them hard to compare and it slightly dissapoints me

Well I've read the book & seen the movie(saw the movie first), & oddly for me, I prefer the movie to the book. Usually I like the books better. Now, if you compare A Walk to Remember the book & movie(& again I saw the movie before I read the book), I can't really choose. They differ of course, but I love both.
Btw, Nicholas Sparks fans out there, whose read The Gaurdian & thinks it needs to be a film?! I do! It's my favorite book of his.
