I know the whole Oscar's season is over but I've been wantin to ask. Can you recall really unpleasant Oscar surprises? Like an academy award goin to the wrong hands for the wrong reasons. I have a few complaints. First: Last year's best movie. I think Crash was great but Brokeback's Mountain should have definitely won. I think it didn't because the Academy, being so politically correct and all, would not give the award to such a radical movie. Too bad, cause it deserved it. Second: Julia Roberts's Erin Brockovich (or whatever the hell her character name was) beat Ellen Burstyn's Sara Goldfarb? ? GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE!!!!!! Third and most important: Cillian has not been nominated yet though he doesn't really need an Oscar to prove he's magnificiently talented, but it'd still be nice I'll come back with more as soon as I can recall more Oscar's dissapointments. Stay tuned

This sounds fun.
For one thing, I was mad that Gwenyth Paltrow won for Shakespeare in Love. Especially when Cate Blanchett deserved it more for her role in Elizabeth.
And Jennifer Hudson didn't deserve the Oscar. Seriously, every fricking award is just kissing her ass. Sure she gave a pretty fine performance, but I thought Rinko Kikuchi deserved to win. She was awesome in Babel. Or at least Cate Blanchett for Notes on a Scandal.
But at least Martin Scorsese won this year. He definitely deserved it, especially since The Departed was the finest movie I've seen in a while.

I'm just gonna comment on last nights Oscars first.
Leonardo DiCaprio was robbed yet again of his Oscar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, that's the thing that bugged me most. But also, my second choices(Ryan Gosling & Will Smith) didn't get it either!!!!!!!!!!!
Eddie Murphy deserved that supporting actor Oscar!!
I thought Merly Streep or Kate Winslet(5th time shoulda been a charm) should've gotten best actress(though, I do love Helen Myrens(sp) performance).
Best song, shoulda gone to one of the Dream Girls songs!
Thank God Martin finally got his Oscar, I was soo proud!! & Ellen was such a great host, she cracked me up! Also, love Will Ferrel, Jack Black & John.C.Rielys little performance, so much needed humor added to a night of sophistication.
And to now comment on not this years Oscars, Johnny Depp should've gotten best actor Oscars when his roles of Jack Sparrow & J.M. Barry were nominated!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I agree with you a hundred percent on Eddie. He should have won the Oscars. I have a couple of theories why he didn't:
1- The Academy would not give him the award on his first nomination, specially for his first dramatic performance.
2- They could not have only one white oscar winning performance (I hope this is not true, cause it would be racist and definitely suck)
On the best actor category, as much as I loved Leo's performance, he would have won the Oscar if Forrest Withaker had not bein nominated. I have to admit that he was terrific. I think the same on Johnny losing to Jamie Foxx. He may have won if Jamie had not bein nominated
Now, I'm goin to open the tenth bottle of champagne for Marty's triumph.. YEEEYYYYY ;D

Nah, Alan Arkin definitely deserved it more; Little Miss Sunshine was a great movie and he stole the show really well. But then again, I could just be hating Eddie right now for making the god-awful Norbit.

Well, I think everyone has a right to disagree. I just was really sad for Eddie

Myself included. Well, I was also pretty sad about Rinko Kikuchi losing. I think she was pretty outstanding in Babel

How about Tom Hanks losing to Rusell Crowe on 2001... I didn't think it was fair at all
