I saw The Prestige on Saturday. Truly amazing film!! One of the most intelligent ones I've seen in a while. I LOVED it!! Might go see it again this weekend. It kinda mde my head hurt though cause I was trying to figure it all out before it ended...lol. And yes, Hugh shirtless is very nice. But I'm a Christian girl through & through, he's why I saw it. I have to see every Christian Bale movie there is, as a rule of mine. And I have yet to see a bad one. Christian scores again!! Oh, here you guys go: www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ72tcCYJOg (Gah! Just makes me wanna see it 10 times more!!).

I saw The Prestige and loved it, too! It definitely makes you think and Christian did a great performance in it (literally). I also recently saw American Psycho. That film was CRAZY, but Christian is so adorable when he talks about music. He could sell any musician's album for sure! His moonwalk wasn't so bad either. Side Note: Wigwambam, your sig has an extra " " in it. If you erase it, your beautiful banner will be centered like it should be (unless it doesn't bother you).

So I wanted to ask a few questions about American Psyco I saw the trailer a while ago, I want to see it b/c of Bale, and Jared Leto (guy who gets killed with an ax, I think his name was Paul) anywho, is it really that bad, scary, or is it thriller/suspence? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Well, I still haven't seen 28 Days Later yet I've seen American Psycho (because of peer pressure). American Psycho is kindda funny, but that doesn't mean that I didn't fast forward through some of it. It's definitely gorey and crazy, but if you really love Christian Bale you should give it a chance.
WARNING: There were moments in the movie where it made me uncomfortable. There is sex in it (and not particularly the average kind). Also, prostitutes are involved. That's correct. There's more than one.

Yah I have heard of the "stuff" in American Psycho thats another reason why I am holding back. I am more interested in seeing it b/c of Bale.

Well if your a Balehead(like I am) you just have to see it. He's truly, nothing short of spectacular in it(the performance of a lifetime most call it). I saw the film when I was 13, I haven't been the same since, lol. Um, I never found it scary till recently but thats mainly because I drool over Christian the whole time as he tends to be...well, naked in that film. But now when I watch it, it gets to me more cause I get paranoid but that's just me. Definately sex in the film. There's a threesome with Christian & two prostitues & their making their own porn movie(so if you watch it with anyone else thats the most awkward part to get through). Then there's sex with his mistress(Courtney), very brief. Then another 3some at the end with a prostitute & friend of his(fairly breif, as he stabs one & chases the other with a chainsaw). Also, during a scene he's making a phone call & there's a porn video on his TV in the backround. The language in the movie is bad...but not over excessive I'd say. There's drugs in the movie(cocaine). Let's just say it's rated R for a reason(actually it was almost NC17 cause the 3some prostitute scene was longer but they cut it), unless you have the Killer Edition like I do. Jared Leto is in it, he plays Paul Allen who gets an axe in the face(or so we think...). I've also read the book. If you think the movies bad, the movie should be rated like PG in comparison to the book which would be NC17...maybe XXX. Um, if you wanna read the book I suggest you have a strong stomach(I can't eat during reading this book or after) & that you have a deep appreciation for dark satire's(as I do). If anyone wants to know anymore on the movie or book, let me know. I'm an expert. I've been a Balehead since 5th grade so there's pretty much nothing I don't know about Christian Bale & his films.

Thank you for your sidenote, that's bugged me for a while but I just let it go. And I actually find him rather creepy when he's talking about music. But, his moonwalk ain't bad at all & I love that little dance he does after he turns on "Hip to be square". That whole axe scene is my favorite in the movie cause I find it to be the most humorous.....along with when he trys to kill Louis. I guess you kinda have to have a dark sense of humor to appreciate a lot of the film. And you definately have to have a dark sense of humor to enjoy the book.

I started liking him when 'Batman Begins' came out. And then with The Prestige, which was a great film.

Yeah, people suddenly took notice with Batman, which is great. But what pisses me off is when people are like "I love Christian Bale, I'm such a huge fan!!!!!!!!!!". I'm like oh yeah, since when? They say Batman or American Psycho, or now The Prestige. And I just love to say..."Yeah, I've loved him since 5th grade when I first saw him in NEWSIES & have seen everyone of his films since". Lol, their like "What's NEWSIES?". Cracks me up. But I'm so happy his fan base is expanding & love welcoming people to Balehead-om.

In all honesty, I never thought that Christian Bale was famous as a child. I only first discovered him in Batman Begins.

Ohh he was famous as a child all right. Ever seen "Empire of the Sun"? It was directed by Steven Speilburg & Christian was 13 in it. He delivered a hell of a performance!! That movie was nominated for like.....6 Oscars I believe. Then, course he was in NEWSIES(my fave movie ever) when he was 16. So yeah, he's had talent & fame all his life. Mans just gifted...not to mention gorgeous. I'm so proud of him. He's had a marvelous career & I'm sure it'll keep going, & going, & going. He has...longevity, like Johnny Depp. And like Cillian, of course. And ya'll will have to forgive my long ramblings in this thread. I just, there's never a shortage of good things for me to say about Christian. ;D Gah! This is the 2cnd time I've modified this, but I forgot something. If you wish to see Christians first film, "Empire of the Sun", as mentioned above; here are some airing dates. Sunday, Nov.26th; 11:30am on AMC Monday, Nov.27th; 4:30am on AMC Wednesday, Nov.29th; 11:45am on AMC Thursday, Nov.30th; 8:15am on AMC It's a fantastic movie, & oddly( I say oddly cause it surprised the heck outta me & made me smile), Ben Stiller has a small part in it. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!! ;D
