Awww...the previews look adorable... I will see it soon... Aww...that's what was so great about it. The previews made it look like a cute fuzzy film, but it was about survival and love. Oh...I'm going to get all watery eyed again...excuse me a second.

see Jonh Q or Simon Birch, that brings out the wet works for me.
So MoP is good, I'll take your word on it. Peguins are so cute.

Oh...I'm going to get all watery eyed again...excuse me a second. Yeah, but since the previews made it look cute & fuzzy, I took my 6- and 4-year-old to see it and had to constantly answer questions about what happened to that egg?(froze & died) and is that penquin asleep?(dead), so the survival-of-the-fittest aspect of it was just too much for them.

I thought March of the Penguins is a beautiful nature documentary that has a fascinating subject in the breeding behavior of the emperor penguin. While I did find a lot to LOVE about the film (moving the egg, seal attacks, cute baby penguins. I agree with what a lot of people have said, it could have been cut down to an hour (with commericals) National Geographic or Animal Planet television show. I also think that March of the Penguins is the hit that The Story of the Weeping Camel should have been.

I wept. I'm reading a book called "Dominion" that's about the (sad) state of affairs in the world regarding cruelty and violence against animals. I kept thinking that some dumb Safari Club hunter would see the movie, realize how difficult it would be to get to the place where the penguins gather, and set their mind to getting there to kill one so they could add another species to their list. The movie does a good job though of showing how difficult the whole reproducing process is to survive.
