So I know that we as fan girls (and I use that term with the up most respect) often mention with what movie our Cillian infection began... but I pose the questions, who what when where AND why? It might just be me, but I thought it'd be fun to get a more comprehensive look on how our board members reacted the first time they saw Cillian on screen. Just an idea... For instance, It was the middle of June two years ago, and I was debating about whether or not I should go see Batman Begins. You see, I was and still am an humongous Batman fan, and seeing the previews, I wasn't sure if Christian Bale was the Batman for me (George Clooney all the way :-P). Alas, it was a boring summer day and my friend called me up to ask if I would go to the movies with her, and we did. Now as we sat through the previews, as many of you might remember, the Red Eye preview was included... but I was not introduced to darling Mr. Murphy at the time... so I payed him no mind... until the movie started! The very first time we are introduced to Dr. Crane, I turned to my friend... 'He has the most amazing eyes I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' and that was it... i was smitten. After that fateful day... I returned to the theater not twice, not thrice but about four more times (and I have the stubs to prove it) And to this day I distinctly remember seeing BB for the second time, and discovering to my extreme pleasure... THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYED MAN IN THE GLASSES IS IN A NEW MOVIE CALLED RED EYE!!!! I joined the forum, and made a Cillian Xanga Layout that very night :-P and that's my story, ;D

I remember it like it was only yesterday.lol I wanted to see 28days later. I am a huge indie fan and horror film fan so who could ask for more. I was with my bfriend at the time. His last name was Murphy as well. No relation.lol. Anyway I started to watch the film and I found myself becoming more and more taken by Jim. He was a great character. It happened slowly, but by the end of the film I was in love. I couldn't stop talking about Cillian. I hadn't heard much from him for a while. I kept an eye out. Then came RedEye and I knew I had to see it. BOP was the icing on the cake. After seeing that film I was gone. No turning back. Thats when I ended up here.

My cillian-obsession took about 8 months to come out... It was a day of june 2005 and I went to see Batman Begins with a friend of mine. The first moment I saw 'the scarecrow', I said to my friend 'god! This guy has such a strange face! He looks like a girl!'. She agreed with me. The more I saw him, the more I felt I was getting interested. First I said 'well...anyway he's not so bad...'. Then 'mmm..he's got two beautiful eyes, really...' Then 'He's nice, isn't him?'. By the end of the movie I was like 'OMG, that Scarecrow!! He was so f*cking cute!!'. While getting out from the cinema, I didn't do anything else but repeating that to my friend. For some months, Cillian was for me 'the scarecrow', and I wasn't obsessed. When I saw he was in Red Eye, I was so excited. 'That gorgeous 'Scarecrow' in another movie!!'. (but I had to wait to see the film until february 2006, when I was already osessed...). And finally, the moment of my cillian-obsession to start came! It was january 2006, and I wanted to know more about this 'cillian murphy'. I made a search of some pics of him, and I fell in love ;D The more I found, the more I wanted...and my obsession (with all the stages typical of my obsessions) began...

Well, it took a while for my obsession to develop. I'll go back to the year 2003. The first time I saw Cillian onscreen, was completely by chance. I happen to be insomniac, so it must have been probably 02 am, and I was slowly driftin to sleep when I changed channels for the last time and a bowling scene caught my eye. First I recognized Jonathan Jackson, cause I'd seen him in Tuck Everlasting (and thought he was really cute), so I stayed tuned. And then of course I noticed someone else, kinda hard to notice cause he had the bluest eyes I'd ever seen and then of course there was the lips. It was a pretty unique face and after a few seconds, I could see that he was so much more than a really pretty face. He was also a magnificient actor. So So I kept watching the movie and I decided that since I'd missed pretty much the first half, I had to watch the entire movie and I had to know who was that incredible young actor. So I waited til the credits and checked my cable magazine. The movie was On The Edge starring Cillian Murphy. By that time, I had scheduled a presentation on young adults and suicide, so I decided to tape OTE and use it for my work (Got myself an A btw, thank you very much) Yet, as fascinated as I was Cillian's talent, I was not obsessed with him. After a year I saw him again, (thanks to Cinecanal AGAIN!), on a Halloween night. The movie was 28DL, it was so funny cause the moment when Jim wakes up from his comma, my boyfriend at that time covered my eyes ;D Anyway, I loved 28DL and Cillian, but surprisingly I was not infected yet! I really liked the guy but I had managed somehow to keep my sanity. And then, of course Batman Begins and Red Eye came out pretty much at the same time where I lived. First, I saw the Red Eye trailer and there he was again ("Ojos Azules" as I called him) and this time was somehow different. I had thought that he was really cute in the other movies I'd seen. This time I found him sizzling HOT! Then I saw Batman Begins and he completely made me forget about Christian who? and finally Red Eye , and BOP, and The Wind that Shakes the Barley, and Disco Pigs, and.... I'll just keep goin. Sorry if I bored you with the really long tale. I still can't believe it, I was able to keep my sanity that long. But then again I don't suffer from Cillian madness, I'm enjoying every second of it

As for me, for the first time I saw CM in the "Breakfast on Pluto". I thought, he is really good actor...His playing is wonderful!I thought, his face is unusual... I was interested...Two days later I watched the film the second time and I fell in love...in his big beautiful blue eyes! Then in Internet I found other films with him...and so on. I would like to know more. And I found this site!

The first time I saw Cillian - and this will sound pretty odd - was on the Batman Begins Xbox game. Hah. My friend and I were playing and when we reached the part with Scarecrow in it, I said, "Oh. Who plays him in the movie?" (I hadn't seen the movie before playing the game.) And my friend goes, "I think his name is like Sillian Murphy or something." So, I tell her that I shall handle this level as she goes online and tries to find a picture of the real man instead of the pixelated version. Then she shows me the picture and you can pretty much see the hearts in my eyes. Hahah. But yeah, because she called him Sillian for the longest time, I did also. And then I read and article or something and found that I had been completely misled. But yeah. That's basically it. Hah.

^^Haha. It was...last year....a couple weeks after Red Eye was released on DVD. My sister is a huge horror movie fan, and had gone to see Red Eye in theaters expecting it to be really scary. It wasn't what she expected, but she loved it nevertheless. And..haha, we were having a horror movie night with an eighty-four year old who used to babysit us (not even joking--she's really old) and my sister--Christan--brought Joy Ride and Red Eye. I didn't really even want to watch Red Eye, because I've never really liked thrillers, but Christan thought I would like it because Rachel McAdams was in it, and I love her. So we watched it, and when Cillian was first introduced, I was like, "Ugh..he's kind of scary, like a scary Tom Welling." By the end of the movie, however, I was totally in love and caught his name in the credits. I went home that night and Googled him and completely immersed myself in finding out everything about him, even joining this forum within twenty four hours of seeing him onscreen. I bought 28 Days Later and Batman Begins shortly after, and by then I was a total, 100 percent fangirl. But Christan still thinks I'm nuts for liking, "the creepy psycho terrorist."

Yeah.. they're pretty great. Well, mine's pretty short (specially compared to miho's... no way just kiddin ) Will still regrets the time when he took me to the cinema. He's a HUGE Batman fan, and it was his turn to choose the movie. So I went with him, biatchin about how the Batman movies had been screwed up and worthless without Tim Burton directin. Anywho, he told me that Cristopher Nolan was directin, so I said Ok. Besides, I have to admit that as many of us, I was really attracted to Christian Bale (I still am), so I was more excited about seing him, until I saw the brightest, bluest eyes I had ever seen. They were completely mesmerizin and the brilliant actor who owns them, pretty much caught my eye and ripped it off. All I could talk about by the end of the movie was about the sexy Scarecrow. And then of course I googled him, and went crazier after seein him in Red Eye and BOP. Then I got 28DL, Disco Pigs, Intermission, On the Edge and Will still wonders what got into him to take me to watch BB with him

My obsession began in about May of last year. I first watched Red Eye on April 22nd (Is it sad that I remember the exact day? lmao) and it was the first Cillian movie I'd ever seen. I fell in love at the bathroom scene when he said "effing sea breeze". Don't ask why... lol But I was curious of who this actor was and found out he was in 28 Days Later, which I rented the next weekend. Meh, not exactly my cup of tea... but I heard a lot about Breakfast on Pluto and thought it looked interesting. So I watched it with my mom and we both loved it. We found out what an amazing actor he was. I rented and watched all his movies over the summer. I've never been so obsessed with something in my life! Geez! But as soon as school started I lost interest. I actually haven't been on here in months...
