I don't have a computer right now. So, I don't have access to my story.

It's GREAT to be back. I managed to type Chapter 25 from reading Chapter 24. I remembered my ideas. But because it's been so long, this chapter is going to be short just to get back into the swing of things. But, it's a major turn of events. Enjoy.

Chapter Twenty-Five
"Nice plea of sympathy, Lis," Jackson replied in a short, sarcastic tone, as the captivated look in his eyes slowly faded away.

The environment was harsh and uncomfortable. Lisa felt as if the air was getting shallower and shallower around her. She felt her cheeks become flushed and warm with the heated air around her, heated air caused solely by the exhaling of their own lungs.

Control yourself…

"What plea of sympathy?" Lisa said, keeping the same serious composure and tone.

Jackson reached forward a grabbed Lisa’s chin. He squeezed her face between his thumb and forefinger, causing her pink lipstick-coated lips to protrude outward towards him. Jackson’s eyes surveyed them, as if he was about to suck the air out of her body right then and there. Lisa stood her ground and leaned her back hard against the wall behind her. She waited for a typical witty, Jackson-like response.

"You remember that little game we’re playing?" Jackson said, letting his eyes roam back and forth between her mouth and eyes.

As Lisa opened her mouth to speak, Jackson parted his lips, eagerly awaiting the response.

"What game?" she answered, struggling to speak from the constriction of her mouth.

"What game… what game? Does… ‘Don’t ask questions’ ring a bell?" he said, shaking her face.. "And would you look at that. You just made 3 strikes in less than a minute flat. Pathetic," he continued in a raspy whisper, staring harshly into her eyes.

"Do you really blame me for asking questions? We don’t trust each other. Even you know that," Lisa responded.

"Hah," Jackson smirked, purposely smearing Lisa’s lipstick, as he let his grip on her fade.

Jackson kept walking down the hallway leaving Lisa behind.

"You remember in the hotel room when I asked how your mom was and you told me she died in a plane crash?" Jackson asked, slowly walking down the hallway away from Lisa.

Lisa coughed. "Don’t get my mom involved with this."

"I wouldn’t, if I didn’t have to, Lis," Jackson said, turning over his shoulder to look back at her with a harsh stare on his face.

Lisa was about to ask ‘What’s that suppose to mean?’ until her gut caught her and stopped her. Instead, she gradually walked up to Jackson, as if the icy blue reflections of his eyes were drawing her towards him like a magnet.

"I don’t get where you’re going with this," Lisa said, still looking at him like he was a hypnotic distraction.

Jackson looked away from behind him, where Lisa was standing, to in front of him. His gaze plunged to the floor of the boat where there was a door that was locked shut right at the tip of his smooth, leather shoe. Lisa peered over his shoulder to see what the big deal was. Suddenly, Jackson turned around and grabbed Lisa’s shoulders, knocking most of the wind out of Lisa.

"You do get where I’m going. This is where playing yourself off as incompetent is going to get you nowhere. Your mother isn’t really dead. Is she, Lisa?" Jackson said flatly, waiting for an answer.

Lisa’s body tensed up in fear.

"What are you talking about? I wouldn’t lie about my own mother’s death."

"Or would you?" Jackson said suspiciously.

He turned back around and reached for the lock on the door. Jackson slid it open and then slowly opened the door. He stepped aside so that Lisa could see inside the cabin. She clutched at her mouth.

"Oh my god…"

"Margaret S. Reisert. Mother of Lisa Reisert. Oh and what’s this? She’s right here. ALIVE," Jackson said, kicking the door shut with an force of anger.

He crossed her arms and turned back to look at Lisa. Lisa’s palms began to sweat and eyes began to cloud with tears at the vision of her mother’s frightened face right below her feet in the cabin beneath her. How Lisa would get her way out of this lie… not even she knew.
