Author's Note-So I was cleaning my room yesterday and this idea like, popped into my head! It's an account of little Rebecca's flight on the Red Eye and post movie. I hope you like it. I am going to often switch it around to her diary and then back to the essay she's writing. Hope its not too confusing.
Part One
Dear Ms. Bouilloire-
Hi. I’m Rebecca, but I think you already knew that. And I know you’re going to be my sixth grade teacher this year. I also know that I think I’m going to like you.
It was pretty cool of you to write all your students a letter before school even started, introducing yourself and all. I didn’t think I was supposed to write back. But I did because...the essay you requested I write? Well, it needed some explanation if I was going to be completely honest. What I did this summer was very complicated and you need to know that.
You are probably going to think that I fabricated the entire thing. Watch the news, though, and you may see a snippet of what I’m talking about. But maybe you still won’t believe me. Most people don’t. When I tell them that I, Rebecca Morrissette was on the historic Red Eye flight 1019 to Miami and, even worse, was later pursued by the infamous assassin Jackson Rippner, I often get blank, misbelieving stares. So I won’t take it personally if you don’t put 100% into believing this story. I understand, I really do. Sometimes I find it hard to believe, even. Just don’t, please, mark me off for not following the assignment. For this is my essay, in my own words, of what I did this summer.
Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Morrissette
